That’s because they aren’t traditional wives. They’re 1950s wives, a group of women who lived like no other generation did. Barely middle class women had maids, 6 days a week often. Those maids did the cleaning and cooking and often a lot of childcare. These women didn’t work or homeschool or homestead. They’re job was to look pretty, coddle their husbands, and entertain.

How do you handle kids that ask for 5 minutes more
@AmyRaisingArrows7 күн бұрын
It's a flat no. We have exceptions from time to time, but we have set times for a reason and everyone has to abide by those times so it wouldn't be fair to give one kids 5 minutes more without giving the other 5 minutes more. You could tell them that if they promise not to ask for extra time, there will be surprise extra time on occasion.

Hope you are doing well now. Thank you, thank you thank you for not sugarcoating the pain of the first day. The doctor medical literature will say “ you will feel sore afterwards” you may be uncomfortable”. I am a male who “ needs” this corrective surgery but I keep going back-and-forth. Stay well.

Who watched the kids when you went to homeschool conferences with your husband? How did you keep your kids in bed after bedtime?
@AmyRaisingArrows18 күн бұрын
Grandparents would watch the kids for us. As for keeping kids in bed, it has all depended on the kid. Some stay in bed real well. Others it took me "patrolling" the hall to make sure they stayed there. I've also used a Kidstible Lamp to help motivate them to stay in bed. Having a good bedtime routine helps tremendously because they know what is expected and it is the same every night. When I get wishy-washy, it all falls apart.

Hi, I had a board certified plastic surgeon, but the truth is the procedure really does not live up to the hype. My stomach circumference after Lipo and tummy tuck are about the same as they were before just smoother and I am having terrible muscle spasms whenever I take off my binder, six weeks is a long time to be out of commission and I’ve missed out on alot of living. This is a very serious and complicated surgery. I’m not sure I could recommend it to anybody.

If you are looking for a program he can do mostly on his own, I recommend Reading Horizons Discovery online program - athome.readinghorizons.com/?a_aid=raisingarrows I also like the concept behind Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons as a way to get them to read a word fluidly, which is often the biggest obstacle to reading well - amzn.to/3K6QZBy

you aren’t alone! We had a move, and my 9.5 yo is behind in reading. We started doing Time 4 Learning as a remedial catch up. I put him a grade back for reading and grade level for math, science and social studies. I’m seeing a big improvement already.

Love from a Catholic homeschooling mom of 5 from Poland

Thank you so much Amy!!!!!!! I love your focus on Jesus! I am a Catholic and we go to church every Sunday! There are some jobs that need to be done on Sunday, when you are a doctor or nurse, a fireman, policeman etc but I try not to go shopping on Sundays, I don't do the laundry, I don't deep clean the house, of course we eat and we must wash the dishes. It's a day for God and the family, friends included. I think most shops should be closed. I don' to go to the cinema then. I can go on Saturday. I don't like the idea of so many people working in entertainment and restaurants like crazy, so that I could rest. What about their rest and time with family? It's not that I never go to a National Park, where someone sells tickets. But I do that so rarely...

When you said that it didn’t even feel like the pain meds were touching your pain the first day or so, did you ask for an increase in dosage or trying another opiate? Obviously people could see how much pain were and why did they not offer more? This is a huge, let’s call it a pet peeve, but is actually more of an obsessive concern to pass medical not being treated properly.

Really good tips! We have minimal space in our house for homeschool supplies, so I use a hanging organizer in the front of our closet to store our curriculum books and a hutch and buffet table in our dining room to store literally everything else! I do still have really small children, so putting a lock on our hutch would be a game changer! My two littlest children are always bringing out anything they can get their hands on 😅

Great information. We have 8 kids with 5 teenagers right now. She is right on. Learning to balance what seems like two families. The Older's and the Youngers. It can be challenging but it's necessary to keep it up with both.

I see you're trying to be open-minded, but God, or whoever is up there if there's some supreme force, did not create men and women to get married, be heterosexual, or even have children. No heterosexual woman is not her husband's "helper." There's no scientific evidence of those things.

Funny thought that always comes to me when I come across the trad wife videos and blogs (besides the general lack of children). Their "traditional" ideal is around the mid 1900s. If you actually think about wives from even 100 years prior to that (Ma Ingalls, Marmee from Little women, etc.) They really embodied a more biblical and truly traditional way of life. They kept the house, cooked and did laundry, raised the children, yes, but they also did the farm chores, protected the family, made financial decisions, alongside and sometimes in the absence of their husbands. They very naturally understood that they worked as a team with their husbands, and their actual tasks altered accordingly.
