I have hyper mobile joints and the torque of throwing slips a bit from the joint or something I gotta try to build those muscles up with these !

Thanks for the cool vibes motivating video. I played disc gold actively several years and had to give it up due to shoulder pain! But you know what, the real problem for me is cell phone addiction. Laying down with chest and head propped up in what "seems" to be a comfortable position turns into a total shoulder / elbow / wrist and even finger nightmare after months and months of that stuff. I'm making a commitment to cut phone way back and turn up my Yoga stretching and calisthenics. Wayyy UP. Maybe I'll be on the DG course again late this Summer. Peace!

Watched several videos for stretches more specific to forehand throwing. This is the money right here. Stiffening straight between the shoulders at the spine from not getting the right stretch in and these worked like a charm to loosen them.

Most accessible exercises. Thanks! I know that you can't give real medical advice thru youtube comments, but what extra considerations would you note for a player with an Ehler Danlos hypermobility diagnosis? Any exercises/stretches to avoid or consider?

Go ahead and add the outstretched arm to the side, hold something that weighs less than one lb, then do circles. This is how I rebuilt my shoulder after an injury. Before injury - 420' max drive... after injury - couldn't throw at all... now 500'+ max drive. I hold a bottle of water and do circles in both directions til I am burnt to a crisp. At first I couldn't go ten seconds without being blinded with pain from the injury. Now I can do several sets in a row and it's just another thing I do to cross-train for disc golf. Those long holes that I never thought I'd birdie... I'm landing in the circle now...

I do this with no weight as part of my warmup. I’ll try with weight!

4:44 this is how i look when trying to protect myself from bogeys. These felt real nice, i've been having some pain in my shoulder where the collar bone meets the shoulder for a couple of months. The stretch up and back with both arms really made it super obvious i need to do more of these.

So... The answer is to stretch?

I sprined my right sc joint on a backhand. Would these help?
@mauisurfer32 жыл бұрын
Ooooooo... that is a bummer. With SC sprains it is also important to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles for long term stability of the shoulder. Many times there isn't much you can do to correct laxity in the SC joint ligaments, but if it is a small sprain then strengthening and improving mechanics in the shoulder and neck can help. P.S. sorry for the late reply.

@@mauisurfer3 Thx, that's exactly what I'm finding. My ligaments aren't contracting like I'd hoped after 2 mos off. If I make a wrong move I can feel it still. Been doing light weights and reps. Sure hope this will resolve.

So I started playing at the beginning of 2019, last December I felt some pain in my arm but continued trowing, stupid I know, but just couldn't stop. It actually hurt when putting not driving, wierd right. I finally stop for a couple months, getting better but still doesn't feel right. Any suggestions?

I think just about every disc golfer has thrown through the pain at some point. I know I have. lol. I find the most common source of pain when putting is a problem with the supraspinatus muscle. It is one of the rotator cuff muscles. This muscle initiates the elevation of the arm and when there is a shoulder impingement it can get pinched or irritated. You may want to check out the "5 disc golf shoulder stretches" video. But of course if your shoulder is continuing to bother you, find a professional who can examine it. P.S. sorry for the late reply. Best wishes.
