Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on June 6, 2016, it is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II. The player may take control of any nation in the world in either 1936 or 1939 and lead them to victory or defeat against other countries.

Canada ain't that bad because it's mostly cold and the terrain is mostly forest plains and hills off the top of my head. Africa is just desert galore, heat, sandstorms and Russian Siberia is large provinces composing small supply ways.

I've tried to get this achievement about 10 times or so, and everytime one of the axis members fucks me out of one of France's cores so I end up having to fight Germany after they've beaten the allies. Nice to see the same thing happened to you, lol.

18:48 For other players struggling with peace conferences Another way to do it is: 1. Take all states (your score will be too low). 2. Unclick one area. 3. Puppet that area. 4. Unclick ALL the states you wanted to take on the right. (to get most of your war score points back, which you can then spend on giving the areas to your puppet, who you can later annex through lend leasing your (not their own!) stuff or by building in its territories) From here, it's sometimes still hard to get a good outcome, depending on war scores. So I'd definitely recommend a save. But, essentially, if you can block/cut off the AI, they'll stop picking areas and let you do your thing. (or you can just use mods/the console😈)

We need a mod or update where you can prioritize supplying your own troups over your allies or straight up forbid your allies from entering specific provinces. Or you should be able to declare war on them, because they are "occupying" your territory or supply lines.

If you just wanna see it, you can use the console to become Portugal, accept Spain's proposal, and then go back to playing as Spain. Don't unpause while you do this though 😆

Did this in 1.10.2 in 1938 (killed UK). THAT WAS NUTS and a freaking ton of luck. To invade that early - you need to invade when they join France in war, the very day there is a chance their fleet is not on patrol yet, but then you need to invade UK and France both at the same time, and then feel all the pain of their fleet killing your supply. A game of speed 1 and 2

Ye, Monarchist playthroughs are among the most interesting ones! I just wish there were a LOT more achievements for each ideology per country, so many more, like forming the HRE as the German Empire. Sadly it locks out some interesting focuses, I wish there were more variation in the focus tree, more things to do.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but if you nuke an enemy airfield it destroys all of the planes. You can take out like 2000 in one strike. Then they refill it. Then you nuke it again. And so forth. Only catch is getting air superiority - but often their airbases won't be where they're fighting, they'll be further back. So you can just send all your fighters to one zone, get it green, drop the nuke, then move the fights elsewhere

Cardiff isn't the only place the AI doesn't guard. New Castle is also a good spot, usually there is either no divisions or very shitty ones. Idk if he's mentioned this before but just by my experience of playing the game, it's how i naval invade the UK pretty easily.

I turned historical off, the UK went communist, and Germany brought back the Kaiser. Had it done before 1942, because France still hadn't fixed its government. My only complaint is that Spain can't core France when I claim their throne and chose the Bourbon candidate, but France can core Spain on its Bourbon path.

Well that's a fancy trick with collaboration governments. It does make sense, though, since they spawn in as a puppet in your faction so other faction members wouldn't be able to eat up their land. Nice.

I've been failing miserably at monarchies Romania so I've been playing Monarchist Portugal and its been so fun. I rushed all the early extra manpower focuses and then did the Brazilian Civil War quickly; bumrushed Spain once their war was done and voila 2 million manpower in reserves. I jumped in with the Allies at the end of the war in Europe for some war score to get more puppets. I'm about to spam out 40 widths with all my extra manpower. Steel is a bit of an issue I will admit but I've got 100+ Civs so trading for it isn't _too_ problematic. After we slap Japan I plan to puppet all of Africa and South/Central America. Basically what I'm getting at is that I'm gonna try to puppet everyone. I will release as many different states as I can too for maximum border gore. I've been recording it and I wonder if I should post or not. What do y'all think?

I remember that i fought UK with only 3 infantry divisions on it's mainland and little to no ships has France because they litteraly just took my colonies and didn't even succeeded even tho i had lik 6 colonial infantry divisions, they sent their whole army there and i invaded them in about 4 days because i forgot one of their major cities then they surrendered.

I don't know if the AI makes plane variants with it's air xp but if they do, they might have a crappy reliability and thus their planes are braking down and you see them as casualties even when they're not fighting anything.

Challenge idea: play as any Balkan nation you want and fight the axis and comintern at the same time. Stipulation: you must be at war with the second faction within 6 months of declaring on the second and you must be at war with both at the same time.
