well he made her dream come true by doing a play together before she was not able to do it can't ask for more at this point would have been great for her to survive but it was not meant to be... it is good to have storys like these who end on a bittersweet note rather than have every romance end on a happy ending makes them not only unique but they also stick to you more than all the other romance anime

The "diagnosis" floating out there was just someone's theory, and as many have pointed out, it doesn't truly fit the symptoms. If it was important to know what illness Kaori had specifically, Naoshi Arakawa would have written it into the storyline. Since he didn't, she must have had garden-variety Dramatically Useful Sickness Syndrome. Crazy, though - I only saw this for the first time six weeks ago or so... and already have a 20x30 wall canvas here, two figures of Kaori, and two soundtracks. It is the most impactful story I've ever come across, so much so it has become my favorite story regardless of what medium it is in. My favorite film is "Raiders of the Lost Ark", but this is better, because it *means* more. I've gone through six weeks of constantly being aware of the shortcomings of other shows I quite happily enjoyed until now. It's perfect.

I made it a tradition to watch this anime every year on April. Why? Because i like to make myself sad 😂. And so that Kaori will be remembered like she wanted 22:07 Now you guys know what Kaori's dream was and 23:12 what lie she's told in April. Im pretty sure i also lied to you about her living at the end. Sowwy 😅 5:38 the musical piece that Kaori "played" (air violin) was the first song that she and Kosei played together when she forced him to be her accompanist Saint Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso 17:36 when she started playing.. just goosebumps. Kaori did say that someday they just might get to "Waltz" again together. And they did 😢 20:36 Kosei felt what happened to Kaori thats why he started crying hence why he also said goodbye.

Kaori and Kosei only played together on stage ONCE (rehearsals dont count) and that was when Kaori forced him to play with her which also happens to be their last performance together. 21:17 That letter always gets me whenever i watch the finale
