The way you both dubbed over the piece was ELECTRIC. Beethoven often has this consistency and measured pace, but when you both played, it really did feel like the original anime! it was strong, powerful, dynamic, and emotional. If you had told me that this was the recording for the actual anime, I would have 100% believed it
@sciguy982 күн бұрын
I think that's because the situation was really close to the anime. I assume they don't play together much, and David was kinda trying to keep up with Ray because Ray was the one watching the anime to keep pace with Kaori's movements. So, it's not too dissimilar to how Kaori just did her thing and the pianist had to try to keep up the best she could.

Nodame Cantabile is probably the ideal anime for you both that has true-to-playing animation as well! Recommend checking out the List of Nodame Cantabile episodes on Wikipedia to see what pieces are featured. Out of the first season: Episode 2 has Beethoven's Spring Violin Sonata Episode 10 & 11 has Rach 2, which I'm sure David will find the contrasting interpretations interesting. Episode 15 has Elgar's E Minor Violin Sonata Episode 21 & 22 has a piano competition with an improvisation of Stravinsky's Petrushka There's many more in Season 2 and Season 3. I hope you both enjoy watching!

All of the piano comments in here made me laugh so hard 🤣 IT’S SO TRUE. Also, it only took me performing my entire repertoire at 10 different rest homes for practice before my college audition to get over that kind of nervousness that sometimes causes those mess ups haha. So, do not despair, you don’t always have to get up to 100 performances to get over that 😂

I think this is my first time on this guy's channel. As someone who used to play guitar and bass, and dabbled a bit on organ and keyboard, I don't really get these kind of competition where you have to do 1:1 replica of the original. In my honest opinion, you can't become the best if you're just trying to imitate another person, the first step is to become the best version of you. If you felt very strong emotion on a certain part if of the song, then show it. I love and enjoyed your dubbing challenge, it made me want to hold my guitar again after 2 weeks of not playing it, and about to tune it now after sending this comment.

Hi Ray, I've really been enjoying going through your videos, keep up the good work, wish you all the best. I have a request/suggestion for future videos, if it appeal to you as well. I would love it if you could create more subjective lists of your favorite works, so that I, and others, might try them out as well. This can extend to other instruments, like piano pieces/concertos, possibly with your classical music buddies, like David Kadouch here. The "tierlist" model is an excellent way for people without classical music knowledge to get acquainted with classic music, and your insights as a professional on what you value and what to look out for elevates the experience. That said, the criteria for ranking has always been "difficulty", this is the case for other creators on KZbin as well. Different criteria, like enjoyability, or themes, would be cool. Just my 2 cents.
