Is it weird that I’m more excited for sensor than I am missiles? I think painbrush getting a cheap sub that will provide value for the playstyle it wants to play is more important than a good special that it just won’t be getting a lot of. Maybe it’s just the “anything but line marker” copium kicking in, but we’ll see. Both seem great though, really excited for the kit even though it probably wont be good competitively.

Painbrush is kinda my second main, so I'm already VERY interested in trying this location focused kit. While I agree that the wind-up is its biggest flaw, it hasnt been that bad for me since the weapon's range is a bit furthur than other brushes and i have some ink resistance to keep me alive. Its a flaw i can live with for now.

I was recently using Painbrush in Salmon Run and the slowness of the weapon plus the ink inefficiency really made it frustrating to use.

It’s funny because I like how Salmon Run brings new life to a lot of weapons and even a lot of “bad” weapons have a fun play style and Salmon Run, except Painbrush.

Really? I also used it recently in Salmon Run but instead found it really nice to use. It was great at thinning out crowds of lessers, especially cohocks. The only problem I had with it was it was hard to get away once you're in a bad spot, which kind of defeats the purpose of rolling the thing lmao

A cool change for painbrush would be to make the first swing significantly faster, but at the cost of damage and paint. All subsequent swings remain as the current stronger swings.

Curling Bomb feels essential to its mobility. They needed to give it another sub that can assist with mobility like burst or fizzy. Point Sensor works well AGAINST painbrush, I don't know why painbrush would want point sensor. This weapon relies so much on ninja squid, swim speed, and main saver, it has to sacrifice so much to add special charge up for missiles, and it wants to be in positions that make for bad angles from which to shoot missiles. I just don't understand what they want out of this weapon.

Im still baffled at the fact that running into someone and flicking them with all that windup isnt 100, but 90 damage. Ill prob use this since I do kinda like Painbrush but unless it knocks off a few frames of startup its gonna stay in low/mid tier. So many shooters have a kill time comparable to its first swing.

I just know someday dart will get a buff which makes it a good sub. I honestly love it, getting directs are so satisfying especially if you kill with it. I had this idea of there when dart bounces it sends out a fast mini wave breaker wave with a radius slightly bigger than it's paint radius, which does reduced damage of a direct of couse but it's still an area of effect which is a big weakness the sub has

VPain is the more aggressive of the two kits with Curling for movement and Pain Nouveau will be more supportive since it doesn't really have a consistent way to get in on the enemy. And while 23 frames of start up is a lot, it makes sense for what is the heaviest of Brushes.

If I could change Painbrush I would make the 23 frames on its first swing as its downtime, instead of its windup. Like after the first swing, 23 frames before you swing again/swim, but the subsequent hits dont have this downtime

I think if they have it a faster, slightly weaker initial swing and put SOME wind up on the second swing, it could allow for faster rolling while still keeping the intended delay on getting to 100 damage. This would allow it some niche faster assists too, and you could still hide your initial weak hit by aiming down if you were going for an ambush.

Blaster isn't getting dart by the way because the ink tank was 45 and you can't make your ink tank higher. No weapon in the trailer is getting dart.

I really like painbrush as the idea of 'combat' brush. . .but goodness the windup does keep me from using it. You can shark perfectly and those windup frames will still get you killed. At best it can really only hope for trades most of the time. . .at that point I'd rather play Tri-Slosh since it has better kits.

Especially on a fast paced game like this where many of the top weapons can kill you in less than 23 frames (The frame where painbrush does its flick for it to do ANYTHING) Slow weapons should have some good strengths to offset that slowness but weapons like painbrush doesn't have many strengths to offset its slowness. That's why it's considered to be a bad main weapon.
