Last year, I left a comment on one of your videos, and you kindly created a video about recovery from fear. I've been consistently watching your daily videos ever since, even though I've fully recovered from my fear and subsequent symptoms. I'd like to add that we don't need to identify the source of our fear. The desire to understand the root cause is often driven by fear itself and a false sense of control. As you've wisely said many times, it's more effective to focus on safety messages. I realized that I had conditioned myself to be fearful by constantly believing and ruminating on every fearful thought that came to mind. But I made a conscious decision to break that pattern and no longer perpetuate it. To anyone reading this, know that you too can overcome your fears. Believe in yourself, stay consistent, and keep watching Dan’s videos- you got this!

I feel like the fear in my life isn’t about the symptoms, but maybe I’m unaware of those fears. I feel like it’s a lifetime of suppressed fear (and other emotions) that I’m working on releasing every day. I’ve been terrified my whole life and I believe that’s why I ended up with these chronic issues. I’m establishing safety within myself for the first time this last year or so since I found your channel. When I’m releasing fear from my body it feels like very old fear that had been stuck for ages…not fear of symptoms. Either way, I thank you for your dedication to helping us recover from fear, Dan! You are so appreciated and loved!!

Another video I watched on mind body talked about calling the things you are feeling sensations instead of symptoms. Since symptoms are associated with having a disorder/disease it creates less fear if you look at these feelings as just sensations created by the brain. Has helped me look at the sensations differently and less scary.

They say the opposite of fear is love ❤ So as well as daily messages of safety - I try to practice wrapping myself in all the lovely energies and facets that fall under the spectrum of a kaleidoscope of love.. 🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💖 Its hard for the brain to operate in two opposing emotions simultaneously. The more I practice this - the more I hope to tip the balance so 'fear' has no place to reside in me... ❤

Was just thinking.. once you know what makes you really fearful in this process, it doesn’t really matter what the doctors told you in the past, what you Googled, even what your past history and trauma - story was. You know NOW what’s really happening with your brain and body so you can consciously choose to stop 1) stop talking too much about symptoms to not well- informed doctors 2) stop googling ourselves every new sensation light or severe. 3) stop reading articles on health related issues Basically stop the doom and gloom and stick with this path no matter how hard, long or discouraging it is at times. Especially people like me with childhood adversity are people who already started life with less nervous system regulation and all the stressful situations / events are tipping us more easily out of balance. The result is kind of learned fear just as the learned chronic stuff. My hubby said it lately to me: in fact you have to re- invent yourself, unlearn lots of harmful stuff and beliefs and in my case it feels installing real safety for the first time in my system. That doesn’t happen overnight, but I’m so excited to go to that place of inner peace finally. I know it will be serving me for the rest of my life. Just my 💡 idea on it, not THE truth 😄. Hope you have a wonderful learning opportunity at your weekend - workshop Dan! Have a lovely peaceful Sunday friends ❤

Most IBS is a result of anxiety because of the brain-gut axis which is why when you have an IBS flareup it triggers anxiety... the anxiety triggers more IBS... which triggers more fear... etc etc... and you get stuck in this vicious cycle until either your mind or your gut calms down and breaks the cycle. The majority of people who have IBS also have some kind of anxiety disorder or mood disorder. Huge correlation between brain-gut when it comes to IBS. That's also why some days you can eat a certain food and be fine and the next day eat the same food and be on the toilet all day long. Or why you can't find which foods are your triggers and so it feels like anything with food in it triggers your IBS because in most cases it's not the food, it's your thoughts - how you perceive any little twinge of a symptom that happens anywhere between your throat and your booty hole.

I am beyond grateful for having found your videos and after one and a half years of suffering from severe reflux, digestive issues and anxiety, of having to run from one doctors appointment to the other, spending endless amounts of money and no results at all, YOU SAVED ME. But sometimes fear is justified. If you fall and get broken and have a traumatic time with recovery, you are going to be anxious about a repeat performance. @@Inge508 No, I don't think it is at all. PDP/TMS is around pain and symptoms that have arisen because of emotional stress/trauma/distress etc. This isn't the same at all as a physical experience of mechanical injury, ie broken bones and subsequent physical damage, ie not emotionally mitigated but actual injury. The anxiety generated by this experience isn't 'perceived danger', it's knowledge of actual hurt.
