One main difference between those that heal quickly and those that struggle is mindset. Get this dialed in and you can get better much faster than you realize.

Love this video Dan! I was one of those people that had been ‘doing the work’ for years ‘trying’ desperately to recover from severe CFS, seeing no physical improvements, when finally this mindset clicked and I started seeing improvements. Outcome independence and not trying so hard has been such a big turning point for me. Thank you for all your videos and for spreading the word. 🙏🏻

I continue to hear stories like yours confirming that once you don't care about the outcome or don't care about the symptoms - THAT is when they fade away. My own experience coupled with hearing from many many people who shared the same experience is why I stress mindset and an attitude of indifference so much.

The more I focussed on the problem and symptoms the worse it was getting. The more I self soothed and told my brain that I wanted to focus on feeling safe and letting go, my body has been improving. Mind set of indifference. Got to give everything time. Self soothing and self holding & skin stroking kind talk helped me

This is so helpful. Today after years of pain (diagnosed as fibro following an op) I gardened for several hours and then did a yoga class achieving my first squat ever!! For me recovery is about tuning into the dialogue going on in my head. I have a voice that constantly says "dont over do it". Actually being aware of this voice means I can challenge it. This is more effective for me that journalling about past major childhood traumas. Journalling helped me understand why I think and do certain things but eventually it just stressed me out and made the pain worse. Thank you.

Thanks. Yesterday TMS screwed up. I have been dealing with very sore heel pain. It was some better but maybe I wasn’t all in that it was TMS. Well now I have pain on a spot I had 6 years ago and stopped after I heard about TMS and it clicked eventually. This foot thing worried me I would mess up the same leg knee by walking funny to avoid some pain. But TMS screwed up and went to the opposite leg past pain site. Bingo. Now I know for sure it’s TMS. Ha ha TMS. GOTCHA.

As one gives attention and meaning to anything constantly , it is being fed and it will grow. From babies to plants to relationships to emotions to stress to pain . No doubt it feels impossible sometimes to turn your attention away when your pain is screaming for it like a baby. But the sooner you teach that baby that screaming will get you no attention, it learns and realizes and ultimately subsidies. The same applies to emotions and pain. I think this is a type of mind set , I hope Dan can confirm or adjust ?

Hands-down, these are the best TMS videos I have found on KZbin. I've been TMS prone and have overcome several TMS issues in the past. Recently, I had several tragedies occur simultaneously and in succession… Followed by a three week, viral illness that agitated the shit out of my nervous system and symptoms began. I immediately went into fear and I am a coach for a living. Set up a TMS cycle that I am now dealing with. No one is immune. Found your channel and it has been such a comfort and encouragement to me that I will overcome once again!

You made the decision that was right for you. A doctors opinion should not affect that. It is tough for me to determine if your shoulder pain is being created by the cancer or the brains perception that your shoulder is still messed up from your experience. However, evaluating how the pain behaves can help you determine if this thing I call Perceived Danger Pain is the cause for your symptoms or not. Take the pain test here: yourpaintest.com - a score over 30 means you can end your pain with this method.

My approach is not to treat or focus on fixing individual symptoms. My approach is about teaching the entire you that you are safe. When the brain has been convinced, the entire system settles down and these various symptoms can begin to fade away. Next step is moving towards how to TEACH the brain to turn it off. You mentioned the folks that you can pick up on the anxiety/tension/freak out in their comments...these are the folks that still aren't getting the mind concept aspect...they are desperate, fear based, focused on a mission...if you're desperate to get rid of pain/symptoms, it's too important, your brain isn't going to let go of the symptoms or pain... This describes me on some days and a couple months back this was me every day...this was the first time in my life I actually wrote an apology note to my loved ones because I just didn't know if I could make it through the night a couple times...you know the black and white thinking. I wasn't in a place to be able to think "I'm safe, I can choose not to care about the symptoms" or to think whatever it is, it is and that's ok. That's why I mentioned I would have been triggered. Hey Dan I commented on one of your videos a couple of weeks ago. Basically I found out I have thoracic outlet syndrome that has given me these symptoms in my forearm but the funny thing is that its not that bad at all. I have no atrophy or something like that (which is normal for this kind of injury when nerves are compressed) and an expert said my nerves functions pretty much normal so there isnt anything permanent and she couldnt understand when I told her about my pain and actually asked me about tms. My brain literally made the symptoms and pain from the injury 100 times worse than it actually is. Its quite funny to think about. I gotta focus on healing this injury but still not let the brain get the better of me so I can still enjoy life and do some of the things that I actually would like to do as its not that bad. Thank you again for you and your videos. It has literally saved my life (for now at least) ;)

Thrilled that I have been able to help. Thank you for sharing your story. If your brain can make the pain 100 times worse than it actually is, the brain is capable of eliminating the pain completely. Don't attach yourself to this "diagnosis". Teach the brain that your body is fine and you can recover completely. Trust the body to heal from any true injury. It always does.

Could it be that those who don't care about their pain are not in as much pain as those who are in the freak out mode? This may not be a question that is possible to answer but it is something to think about. Pain, in many ways, is subjective in that some people have a tolerance than others. Some people almost faint at a pinprick will others can endure a lot more, such as athletes.
@PainFreeYou

Everybody is different. But even those struggling with level 10 out of 10 pains had success by not giving the pain too much attention and power over their lives. They had to teach the brain that they didn't care if they hurt or not. Yes, this is very challenging, but can absolutely work wonders. Make indifference something you work towards, regardless of your pain levels.

I try this but my migraines just stay for a few hours and I take a lot of medicine. I train mma so I know how to breathe and keep myself calm under uncomfortable situations and I have faith in God and trust in him, I don’t try to beat the pain or symptoms I don’t mind it I will get through it but it’s been 3 weeks now with 3 hour migraines and no over the counter or relaxing helps. I’m just ready to go back to normal how longs can concussions last should I be concerned?

If you have had a recent head injury - please get checked out. I am not a doctor and cannot advise regarding concussions. Once cleared of anything significant, the suggestions in this video are what I believe can help teach the brain not to give us pain. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaetmHWkp815qpo

I feel my symptoms less when I’m not at work ( my body’s less tense) but once I get to work I feel my symptoms non stop. How do I go about it? How do I keep calm and relaxed at work?

It's a matter of teaching your brain that work is not dangerous. Experiment with visualizations before you get to work. Imagine having a great day and a positive outcome. Right now you expect the pain and it shows up as expected. kzbin.info/www/bejne/joSbhmaYg52YZ8k

Ive been struggling with chronic pain for over a year now.. M 32 years old. Been doing alot of mental work thanks to your channel and a few others. I finally managed to break a huge barrier yesterday when I was able to ride my motorcycle over 2 hours. Sure i had some pain, but it was managed with some good music in my helmet and singing along. Its all about that mindset. that barrier in my head has now been moved. Slowly but surely doing things that used to bring me joy. Healing is work. it takes time... Thanks for he channel.
