Hi pal I've got a stone built house. Floating floor.outside air ventilation looks like below damp Done inspection hole under chimney breast.under floating floor no membrain just soil and wet.only moved in 6 days ago. House only 20 year old ,any advice..thank you..By the way glad you got him

Hi mate not related to this video but you know when you do the "express system" with the plasterboard and I know in one of the videos I watched you used dryzones dry grip but is there anything you can recommend that you can buy straight off the shelf? As I'm doing it Monday 😂

Any of the waterproof adhesive may work but iv not tested any

Really like the video he is coming across professional but like you say he looks like he hasn't got much experience I do set my walls the next day after rendering plus that is a breathable surface and I usually find that they take a bit longer to dry but they do dry I've never had one blow yet the cracking is usually because I've gone on too thick in some areas but if I had to come back two days after rendering every time I'd have to spin my jobs around too much coming and going and the customer doesn't like it

I've brought a brand new handboard for this video the most dirtiest thing there is the beer crate and they are quite hard to come by in the Midlands

Do you just empty the bags and pour into mixer? How do you add the aggregate?

Yes use 25kg bag as they have the right weight

@@dampsam that's how I do it as well,plenty of funny looks on site though. Most use buckets. The sand from Travis Perkins has been coming in at 23kg lately I find bags are not always the correct kg as written on them.

Carlite is lovely stuff to use, just so expensive

No Conrad, Carlite finish is designed for using on gypsum based backing, you wouldn’t use it on a plasterboard although back in the 80s i once had to as I had nothing else, 4 hours horrible set too

fast rule of plastering never plaster over the original damp course and I bet the breach is being caused from where they've joined the conservatory to the house people doing plastering as well that don't know what they're doing dump proofing and plastering r two different things that's why there is a separate qualification

As soon as you open a bag of cement and put a shovel in air gets in and add to the volume so how can all the shovels full be the same? It’s not your fault you don’t know lad but it is your fault your passing on wrong information and this is the problem with not investing in yourself and learning things correctly

Mate what are you talking about. I'm a full time proper plasterer and renderer and everyone I know including brickies and builders measure by volume. How can you measure in weight when you have no scales ?😂 your sand could be wet what then? It's going to weigh more isn't it 🤣 cmon mate use your noggin

I don't think bearded Sam has ever worked on a building site, I could see him now mixing his 1 ton bag of sand, also it's known as a hawk in Essex for the last 48 years I have been plastering, he can't have read many plans if he thinks waterproofer is only used below DPC when I think of the money I could have saved not using it on blockwork. i can't wait to watch some more of his videos :)
