Usyk beats AJ twice, AJ throws his belts out of the ring and goes into a full on meltdown and reels off all his excuses, stealing the moment from the winner. Usyk fights Dubois, gets hit by a shot that the ref calls low, recovers and continues the fight in a weakened state and Dubois who was outclassed and couldn't answer any of Usyks shots takes a knee after eating a stiff jab. Frank Warren gets in the ring and starts saying his man (who literally just quit) was robbed. Usyk fights Fury 1st time, KO prevented by the ref but wins by SD. Fury says it's only because his country is at war. Swears revenge in the rematch, fails to deliver so Usyk wins yet again. Fury walks out of the ring in a strop, followed by Frank Warren in the ring looking like he's on the verge of tears because Usyk beat yet another one of his cash cows. Usyk tries to celebrate his win and speak to the press, ring gets gatecrashed by dopey triple knee claiming he wants revenge for his "robbery". Again people forget Dubois quit and barely landed a legal shot. Is the guy just thick or is he genuinely punch drunk already? Honestly the way this country has responded to Usyks victories has been an embarrassment. The only man who took the loss like a man was Bellew. The heavyweights are proper whiney little bitches 😂

I think Bellew put it best when he said "You think Usyk is in range, but he's not there." It's a very unusual talent he has, but it confuses his opponents so badly, they seem to become gun shy. It makes them second-guess themselves so badly, they can't pull the trigger. Also, he has respectable power at HW, so opponents know they're going to have to pay a price for walking in on him. Another excellent performance from Usyk.

I doubt it tho in those rematches, cuz it was all or nothing both for Josh as Fury in the rematches. But it's not just letting ur hands go. The problem is in later stage of the fight you are so exhausted, against a guy with great movement & stamina like Usyk.. Joshua couldn't touch him, Fury could but then again lacked the power to hurt Usyk, if he'd have Wilders power, it'd be different but ye.

I still don’t have Fury even in the Silver medal position. His resume is paper thin. He’s avoided Joshua for years. He has one fluke over Kitschko and a time wasting, fake symbiotic rivalry with a one dimensional, extremely limited fighter. There are 20 or more heavyweight names who were or are active now at the same time as Fury and he’s never faced them. And what generational talent only has three World title defences? So much of Fury is what he is because the media listen to his stories and are bamboozled by his inconsistency. I for one can’t wait for him to retire. For real and for good this time.

This is by far the best post fight analysis on YT. You summed up my thoughts exactly, Geordie. I said last night that Usyk was starting to motor at round six. After that, Fury wasn’t at the races. I’m so happy for Usyk, though. The disrespect towards him from the broader boxing community has been disgraceful. He’s rammed it down their throats by sending the most overrated HW champion ever packing with his tail between his legs. From being the self proclaimed greatest ever, disrespectful gobshite Fury ends his career as an also-ran. A boxer on the same level as, Hide, Haye, Bent and AJ (and I’d argue AJ’s resume is better). A labouring win over a well over the hill Klitschko and two wins against a guy who can’t box is his legacy. Usyk, on the other hand, breezed through the HW division, ducked no one and beat everyone, is a two-time undisputed champion, and goes down as one the greatest ever. Fury will have to dine on that knowledge for the rest of his days, and it couldn’t happen to a nicer man. Karma is a bitch 👌😄

I think Fury started off great, he was using his reach which he didn't do the last fight, but he tailed off midway through the fight. In the beginning it seemed like Usyk was reaching for his punches because of Fury's reach, but midway through the fight Usyk was just walking down Fury and he had no trouble getting inside. Maybe it was fatigue, maybe it was the body punches, but Fury didn't look the same as the earlier rounds. Meanwhile Usyk seemed to get stronger and kept moving forward like a bulldog.

For every spark of momentum Fury had Usyk immediately matched him & put a stop to it. Not only that, for every 3 punches thrown by Fury - Usyk would throw 6 or 7 more back at him. At no point was Usyk staggered or slowed down during the fight. No matter what Fury did he couldn’t break through. I don’t get anyone saying Fury won tho. If you literally score it by points, Usyk landed more by a large margin. His accuracy was also substantially better. So purely from a numbers game it wasn’t as close as some are saying. As if we needed anymore proof that Fury is a bum, he’s now going around crying to the press that he actually won both fights. That somehow Usyk had the matches stolen from him. Classless as always.

Apparently, the gameplan for Tyson's corner was to finish Usyk in the early/mid rounds. They were banking on his +66 lbs or whatever it was to translate to KO power and it didn't. It kept him on his feet this time but seemed more like a hinderance. He wasn't able to get the job done because Usyk is too elusive and was able to out point him. He won fair and square. Think this is the sad thing about it all. Fury and his entourage moan about the fact he is not loved in the UK anymore and how they now hate the country and will never have him fight here again. But there absolutely was a time when everyone was rooting for him here, he was deemed to be purer and more authentic than AJ who was seen as manufactured in some quarters. We all loved him, but his antics and behaviour over the years have made it impossible to like him and Usyk, on the contrary is impossible to dislike. The crime isn’t that Fury got beaten by a better fighter, there is no shame in losing to Usyk. But the sad element to it is that the result puts a smile on so many people’s faces.

Tyson Fury didn’t just step into the ring with Oleksandr Usyk, a formidable champion in his own right, but also faced the weight of an entire nation's hopes and resilience. This amplified the stakes and pressure in a way that went beyond a traditional boxing match, Fury battled more than just his opponent.

You scored the fight spot on TG. Thanks for saying it as it is. And the punch stats back it up. Usyk landed more punches than Fury in 10 rounds, and Fury landed more punches than Usyk in just one round. This fight wasn't close in the slightest. Usyk totally dominated the fight from start to finish. Usyk is without a doubt on the Mount Rushmore of boxing. In my lifetime, Usyk is the best boxer I've seen.

Hi Brian: Great episode! Great analysis! Whatever you do, don't change now that you've hit the big time! 🙂 I also liked your latest episode - the video replay with commentary. That was GREAT too (very edifying)! I agree that Fury had to fight a 'kill or be killed' fight' in order to prevail, and maybe as you say (if I understand you correctly) that 'kill or be killed' was the game plan, but when Fury got in the ring, he wasn't able to bully Usyk or he got scared to risk going out on his shield. However, I'm not sure the game plan going in was kill or be killed. Before fight week, Fury was saying that the first fight was close, and he didn't need to do anything differently - just be more focused. It was only during fight week, that he started talking trash, saying he was going to cause pain and hurt Usyk. I think we need to look at Fury's corner. What were Andy Lee and Sugar Hill telling him? Did they think he could prevail by out-boxing Usyk? I heard Andy Lee interviewed during fight week- and he said he couldn't give the game plan away, but that Tyson was going to come in heavier to be able to stand his ground. And I went back and listened to the corners in between rounds, and Sugar Hill seemed to be okay with what Fury was doing - he just wanted him to do more. Be busier. After Round 6, he scolded Fury for not moving quick enough and letting Usyk get the round. Then going into round 12, he was adamant, after Fury got pushed back in round 11, he said" "There ain't no tomorrow. You're fighting too close. Take this f*cker out." Having said that, I agree with you that the reason why Fury is a sore loser, and can't accept defeat is because he tried to beat Usyk at Usyk's own game, and failed, twice. Usyk is not only the better boxer, Usyk is the better bully. Tyson Fury's is a cautionary tale. Tyson has 'cried wolf' too many times - he's gone into too many fights ill prepared, thinking they were going to be easy, and he took more damage than he should have- Otto Wallin, Wilder I, Ngannou. Those fights took a lot out of him, and then when he wanted to get serious, be more focused for this fight- he didn't have it in him.
