Finally moved from TX16s MKI OpenTX to Tx16s MKII EdgeTx with lots of models. There is an easier way now to clone the radio. Use the Multiconfig Lua script on old radio to read the MPM ID. Then run that lua on new radio, and edit the settings to match the old one. Save and done!

Sorry FRSky, I have been using your products for years, bought your new Taranis and most of my receivers won’t bind, constant software upgrades to make things work. I have spent more time removing receivers out of planes than flying them. I have had enough and I am switching to Jumper.

I recently had a problem with a glider model on the taranus that I wanted to move to my Jumper T16. No matter what I did the radio setting would not allow for a fresh radio setting (bind) in the Jumper.The servos all worked, but the telemetry would not. The only thing I may have skipped is setting the profile for the taranus when I loaded in the model. When I simply created a new model, the multi module would show the new version of firmware I had just flashed and telemetry worked perfect. I had to hand copy over all the programming to the new model to solve the issue. Still really have no idea why I could not just create a new model and copy over the other model setting without bringing the old protocol with it. Thanks so much for this video as I purchased the RadioMaster TX16S mainly due to the ribbon cable issue in my Jumper T16 and this will help make that process seamless.

Thanks for this video, worked great for me except for my large scale gas powered P51D which has 2 X8R FrSky Rx in it, one runs the fuselage servos, the other runs the wing and U/C. Neither Rx will bind. I could just do it manually but I hate to be beaten! Obviously needs a few extra steps, can you give me any tips please?

such a great feature, been given 2 quads to get xm plus reivers working for someone. 1 of the quads the reciever is buried. this means i can just clone my radio to theres and dnt need to pull the quad apart to bind to there radio

Very cool. Will use for my XM+ quad. The rest are either going Crossfire or need downgrading from ACCESS. Incidentally, to copy models to/from the Radiomaster, I plug in the cable and select the storage mode but you do the trim switches, turn on method. Any advantages to either?

I have 6 models flying with the old D8R-II plus, and I using the lastet OPenTx firmware and internal module too. You can't import models but you can clone the radio to avoid rebinding..

Hello Lee, Your vid here is perfect and I cloned all my FrSky and RadioMaster recievers in the D8 and D16 protocols. But.....is it possible to clone all my Spektrum/ Orange DSMX/2 recievers sitting on my Taranis 2019 that has a 4in 1Module.... and another module XJT to fly my L9R recievers. (I have just done a bind on 2 planes in the conventional manner for DSM....but if they can be cloned, all the better.)

I just exported my models from my old trusty ACCST Taranis QX7. I switched to a jumper T-18 because it's getting harder to find ACCST receivers with telemetry and when you do they cost more than they should. So.. a T-18 made sense. First mod I plan on making is an external 2.4ghz antenna. Cloning my FrSky receiver bindings was a breeze. Can the same be done with DSM and DSM2 ? I'd like to migrate my Eflight airplanes over to the T-18 too.

What about Frequency Fine Tune with Frsky Receivers ? They say when you did a Frequency Fine Tuning you have to rebind the reciever. Do you then lose the binding with the taranis? and is the receiver only connected with the Radiomaster? Thanks for your great video's! Its very helpful!

Just bought this radio and upgraded to 2.3.11 and the clone function hasn't worked for me. In addition all the telemetry settings have to be redone because the system does its own things and this results in duplicate telemetry listings. Pain all round but the features in the 2.3.x are great. The migration is from one of the original Taranis X9D on 2.2.4.

@Painless360, a QQ... If I want to sell on an MPM radio (or the radio I cloned at any point), how do I wipe the cloned ID from the MPM? This is important as I wouldn't want the buyer being able to bind any new models using that ID or we could end up controlling one anothers models. Do I simply reflash the MPM firmware? Or is the ID held in OpenTX, so I reflash that?

Update... I suggested this erase cloned ID functionality to Pascal from the MPM project, and he implemented it in test within 24hrs! It is now part of the latest stable build.

Any idea if this is somehow disabled in the CRSF Shot nightly builds put out by TBS? Under the FrSky protocol, my subprotocols stop at "LBT 8ch", where on yours it seems to go up to "D16Cloned" and "D8Cloned". Nevermind, I think I found the answer: "OpenTX 2.3.8 N184 (nightly) or later is needed to have access to the "D8Cloned" and "D16Cloned" subprotocols, D16v2.1 "Cloned" is available under FrSkyX2/Cloned." The TBS build I'm using must be based off an earlier version.

I followed your video only difference was I used a MacBook Pro. I didn’t have to reload my models? Wonder if it was because of the Mac? Also afterwords I got a update multi module required. There’s a good site I’ll try to post a edit with the link here that makes the download simple. Just download and copy to firmware in you SD settings then execute the bin file and it’s done.

Hello Painless, I have a problem that has lasted days. in your video, you use the D16 mode. but you don't mention most users in the EU/ UK useLBT and as far as I can tell, you can't use the mulit protocol on EU LBT X8R frsky receivers. If I use the Multi/FRSkyRX/CloneTX, following your video I see the bind take place on the TX16S. But that is as far as I can go. If I reboot the only option in Mode is D16 or D8 cloned, so my LBT receiver will never connect. Am I missing something here, please help.
