That's what I was wondering. Would both radios get the frequency pattern "packet" and all be in sync simultaneously? My guess is that there would be an unprecedented amount of interference and the receiver would failsafe.

Great video 🤟 i got to bind. But from a Jumper T pro to a RadioMaster Boxer 3 position switches don’t match up. Can something be done. If i change switches in BF the quad would mixed up on the jumper?

Ok got a question. And a challenge test. Question does with work with FRSky radios as well. I have Taranis and Q7. Would be cool to multi bind so I can let a friend fly with me as well. Challenge. Since it doesn’t cause conflict. Would it be possible to be flying and have second radio on already. And then power off your radio so the other radio takes control and then transfer control between 2 pilots as opposed to passing the transmitter back and forth.

Its worth it. Went from a DX9 to the Radiomaster T16s. Tried the jumper but i wasnt a fan of it. The radiomaster is so much better and feels like a legit replacement for the DX9 for me.

@@walspeed That says a lot right there! I still have my DX8 but wished it was a DX9 for quite a while. The receiver cost and binding complexity drove me over to Flysky but I still have models with both Spektrum and with flysky receivers. Radiomaster would definitely simplify things.

Joshua, question: so here we have 2 transmitters set up to bind to a receiver, and around 8:30 you mention a pseudo hopping scheme, so if as you showed which ever one is on first and binds the other transmitter being powered on does not “see” the receiver, why then are there any limitations to how many radios (transmitters and receivers) that can fly at one time. Also as a followup what would happen “if” the transmitter that was not bound to the quad was turned on having a fully charged battery while the one currently bound to the quad had a somewhat depleted battery charge? This only works with a multiprotocol module. It doesn't work with FrSky's own internal module.

Really struggling with this. Trying to use a MPM on a Tango 2 to match my Taranis. The menus are different but I've finally managed to bind the two Txs and find and select FrSky Cloned 8 Channel with the same model number. Still doesn't bind to my R-XSR. Does that need to run the latest firmware? I hope not as it's still ACCST.

just for info, Deviation has done it many years ago, not only for FrSky, ;but for all receivers that I owned. the logic is, a receiver's unique ID is composed of two parts. One is owned by the Tx, the other is what you set in your model. Usual case is even your buddy has set in the same ID, he won't be able to control your plane. However, if you have another Tx as spare, you can set both Txs to the same Tx ID and have control by both radio. I am new to openTx, and assume that it is a basic logic for all R/C flyers. To my surprise, openTx is not. May be I have to go back to Deviation

I don't know enough about how the FrSky protocol handles frequency hopping to know when the sync happens, but I'd be curious whether you can get the RX to switch which radio it binds to by moving the currently bound one farther away.

Hi, great information and fruitful. Btw, I have some strange problems after using the TX16S on V761 those Volantex Mini RTF planes. Story as like: (1) Throttle unlocking - Prior to TX16S, all my V761-# (4 planes) were totally working ok with my T8SG - After received my TX16S, and bonded those V761-# to it, everything working fine also on Radiomaster - A week later, just for some test; I tried re-bind back to my T8SG; everything works, "but" no way to unlock the throttle.. tried all different sequence, including re-calibrate using the stock Tx; until now still no way to unlock the throttle on my T8SG anymore. 2) Both Tx bonded with same V761-# plane. - Another strange issue is, when I switched on the both Tx (TX16S and T8SG), both are able to control the plane at the same time, obviously the control surfaces are getting a bit crazy once in a while... even any of the Tx switched on in any sequence, .. the 2nd switched on Tx, still able to "buddy" together to the same plane .... Bad things.. in short interference.. 😅, in this case, I can make use of the TX16S to unlock the throttle while both Tx are on, and switch-off the TX16S to continue use the T8SG to fly the plane ...LOL Do you have any experience with V761 protocol?

I wonder if you could bind to all receiver numbers of the cloned transmitter just using the one cloned profile. That way you always clone all D16 bindings of that transmitter (or at least those with the same sub protocol). But in that case it might be a problem when you use the one remote to control the one receiver (number) and start the other remote with the cloned profile but on another receiver (number)!?

So you can also compile multiprotocol module firmware from source using the global ID function, and flash them to both radios, and they will appear as the same radio to the receiver for all protocols. Although depending on your workflow you may end up having to rebind them all....

There is no way to copy the cloned ID over to the main ID. You can do that if you compile the module firmware yourself but most people won't do that.

I am pretty sure that the hopping sequence is fixed. When the Rx and Tx link up at power on they sync up their hopping sequences. When you turn in a second Tx with the same UID it is extremely unlikely that it would come on at exactly the same point in the sequence. The Rx is never listening on the frequency that the second Tx is broadcasting on therefore it doesn't see it - until the first Tx is turned off. At that point the Rx goes into hold and starts seeking a valid Tx signal. When the second Tx hopping sequence gets to the Rx is listening on then the Rx gets a valid signal, goes out of its hold state and happily goes on listening to the new Tx. This whole spread spectrum thing is pretty robust.

In view of this, I were just thinking, with combination of FPV and Autopilot equipment, we can actually do long range FPV "marathon", the passing the Tx controlling from one pilot to another.. Like pilot-1 from the base, and Pilot-2 at 30km away and so-on.. and at last the plane landed at pilot-N based.. so pilot-N can replace the batteries etc and flying back the plane on reverse path all the way back to the pilot-1 over the same pilot to pilot in mid way of flying path. That's looks nice..😁😁

another way to "transfert" all your models from one to another is to build your own multimodule firmware with a fixed Id instead of the generated one, this way weither you use the tx16s or the jumper it should work.

What I’m saying is that, both the trainer and the trainee can control one drone at the same time, but unfortunately right now it seems that only one radio will connect or which ever connects first. Pretty sure the 50 HOP frequencies are sent by the TX and stored on the RX at bind time on FrSky (only 47 of them are actually used). This would suggest that both TXs would therefore be using the same HOP frequencies. So something else must be shutting the second one out from interfering in an existing session.

But you can't switch control on a switch. You need to change model or turn the transmitter off. By the time you've done that your trouble is over. What you want is trainer mode.

Guess that's information wich has nothing to do with the bind info. Subtrim and such is stored in the model. You can copy this over from one radio to another with the OpenTX companion app.

Does anyone know of a cheap spectrum transmitter? I accidently bought a mobula6 with a dsmx receiver off amazon thinking it was a frsky receiver and now heli nation is giving me all kind of crap trying to return it. They are making me pay for return shipping and also going to add a 20 percent restocking fee! I am so disappointed right now honestly I'm feeling really upset about it. I looked online for spectrum transmitter but they all seem to be very expensive. I'm afraid I just wasted 100 dollars. Please if anyone has any suggestions I'm feeling really lost right now.

In the Betaflight OSD tab change the NTSC / PAL setting to NTSC or PAL then save then completely power cycle the quad and camera (un plug USB). If NTSC doesn't work try PAL.
