I bought this camera for my bike tours and I am thrilled.

Does the fps become slower when you go fast on your bike?

Fantastic testing and review, Lee! 😃 You should try one from Firefly. I have 2 Firefly Hawkeye 8SE, one with small FOV (to record what I'm working with on my workbench) and one with the big FOV. They work great and are compatible with Gyroflow as well! And there's the Firefly X Lite II as well, which is a naked camera. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

The menu and quality looks like FireFly 4K v3. The same quality in a nice box with screen. Thanks for the review.

No kidding waiting on Amazon for my delivery of said camera being delivered today. Got a 128 Gb U3 micro SD sans disk card excited to go vlogging. Sorry DJI 3! NOT Sorry I think. Great video chap.

It appeared to be 1080p in all 3 modes! On the flipside, all the accessories you'll need and a half decent 1080p action cam, in a single box for an okay price. Personally, I'd be off to MPB or similar and snagging an old Hero 3+ Black for about £60 and buying a few aftermarket accessories for it. Much better quality footage.

I doubt the encoded signal is even 1080p, it looks more like an upsampled 720p. The blockiness in the 4K crop is 3-4 pixels wide. :(
@Retset2 жыл бұрын
KZbin degrades quality so if you are perceiving 720p (I agree, looks like that to me as well), it's probably more like 1080p for real. Unless I'm just being too generous ;)

Go Pro is an expensive front bumper for a drone and is it so important with the best quality when we are flying around in a bando`?

I really like this camera, I have been using my googles for video and after 7 years I purchased a couple of HD cameras. A RunCam Orange 5 and Thumb. The reason why was the cost. I just have one question, I don't have a 3D printer so if I break the mount can I order a replacement ?

And thanks for the video

@@johncarold you may want to check out Hawkeye Firefly X Lite II 4K . It is slightly more than 90 bucks but 2K and 4K quality is much better when compared to Thumb and Thumb pro. Basically it is naked version of Hawkeye action camera. Mount included in the box looks flimsy but is secure and robust enough to survive the crash which cracked the camera lens. The main problem is configuration, since app they are providing works on older versions of Android only, and the wired controller is horrible :) And since you do not have 3D printer, use tape to secure lens protector before the flight.

Seems like an okay compromise, if you haven't experienced a better camera.

I noticed in the closing clip that it still had the plastic film on the lens - I assume you removed it before the testing! - I have something very similar, branded as an Action Camera, with all the bits, but only a rear screen. By experiment, I found that the mobius camera driver site works with the cam, so it's probably the same electronics inside! I prefer the mobius as an on-board cam, though, because the smaller flat profile with the lens on the narrow end is a lot less draggy than a square box perched on top!

All film removed for testing. Happy flying!

Is there a Firmware upgrade available for this camera? And if yes, where?

Exactly like the images in the video. This isn't a great camera for the hobby. Stay tuned. Better options coming soon!

Interesting camera. It's more like $249 Australia peso here for me to get the SF530, but interestingly the single screen version SF230 is $127 (and does come with the external mic in the package so it seems)... and Amazon only seems to want to offer me the Gopro Hero 8 or 9 for around $539... but I can get it from a local firm for $449... so the Surfola is certainly a good option to keep up your sleeve, especially if the single screen version is otherwise the same as the dual-screen... reasonable quality footage for nearly 1/5 of the price... 😲

Thumb pro, because size and weight. No gyro data? That killed it.

There seems to be a heap of these cameras that are identical just with different branding. I bought an Akaso version for $70 AUD and it's exactly the same. It's just a waste of money and would recommend buying an older GoPro, even a Hero6 Black is miles above these.

Exact copy of the Akaso Brave 7 LE, and not even near the picture quality.

Audio is lighter years ahead of the Akaso series. One of the main reasons I like this camera.
