Peter - I've recently taken up painting since the loss of my lovely wife of 45 years - partly to help me heal and also because I find the activity beneficial to mindfulness and relaxation - to say nothing of how enjoyable it is. Your tutorials are quite superb, expertly presented and worth every minute I spend following your instructions. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and expertise.

Peter - For the past 50 years I told myself that I'd pick up water coloring once I started retirement. A few years slipped away before I got around to it again but your great direction and easy to follow steps have my kids and grandkids amazed at my work. (They're questioning if I really did them - high praise in my house) Just a thanks for re-igniting a passion dormant for 50 years.

Peter Sheeler ...... hi peter ... this is Beaky from the band .. Dave Dee dozy Beaky MICK and Tich ...... I love your work and I'm trying to emulate what you do ..... I can draw and paint ... but can't seem to draw the lines like you do ..... frustrating mate lol
@PeterSheelerart7 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni. Wow, DDBMT. I'm honored. My "sketchy" style is based on two simple rules. I never draw a long straight line. I draw in a stop and go process. Longer lines are always broken in several places. And, I often draw two line beside each other where one line would do the job. A good way to practice this is to draw a picture using a continuous line. Place the pen nib on the paper and don't lift it until the sketch is done. It's a lot of fun and I do it often. My style has simply developed over the years and will probably continue to evolve.

Hi Peter. I really like this line and wash and am going to do it on a birthday card for my daughter. My fave part, though, is that even though you were having "troubles" with the pens and then the amount of water on the paper, you soldiered on. You could have scrapped it and we never would have seen how you brilliantly saved the day. It is truly gorgeous. Thank you so much!

+Francoise de Rocher Thank you Francoise. Glad you've enjoyed it. You bring up a good point with the Phthalo. It is a very intense, heavy staining, hard to handle pigment. Maybe not the best choice for tutorials. I may have to reconsider its use.
