I'm glad to find you. I've been struggling with loose painting. This is very helpful.

I see a bird in the green. I love that idee of putting some colors on the paper and see what happens. Ty for sharing 😊

I have learned more from your wonderful “heart-felt” process than all others combined. I can’t wait until after the holidays to sign up for a class from you. Merry Christmas from a loose and free fan.

I guess it's because I live in the U. S. southwest that your loose watercolor looks like a cactus against a sunset or sunrise. Beautiful.

Beautiful, Angela! I loved the warm addition of quin gold--lovely. Moreover, I love that you've reminded me to PLAY! I normally don't of late, so I appreciated the shot in the arm. Have a lovely month at WWM, and I'm stoked about my 2 Angela Fehr zip cases that have OUR painting on them! Superb choice! Fanna Turano Denver, CO

Great tutorial not only for beginners but for seasoned artists who need permission to play. You have inspired me to paint something loose and free! :-)

Thanks for creating this "Wet on Dry" Tutorial. I'm very much a beginner with watercolor and am trying to learn techniques. For me, this video has clarified what the "Wet on Dry" technique is. Looking forward to following you as "World Watercolor Month" continues. Love this!

I could watch you paint for hours! I have a hard time letting go and losing control.

Thank you so much for sharing tutorials like this one and for listing the exact items you use. Knowing the exact paint brand and colors AND being able to link to it so to purchase it is so helpful for true beginners such as myself. I have found that I only began to enjoy and love learning watercolor once I tried truly good quality paint and paper.

I love your style Angela. I love how you start your paintings loose and then ‘see’ florals or what have you, in the painting. I struggle with seeing that. I also need help with composition within the loose style that you do. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. 😃

Thanks Angela! I enjoyed watching you watercolor this beautiful painting. And you only used 3 colors!! I find it helpful to see how adding texture adds depth and interest to a painting!

Fun lesson! I have trouble with leaving white spaces, whether I'm painting loosely or a more planned scene. It's just so fun to cover everything with those pretty colors. Any tips?

Angela, I know your plate is extremely full, but perhaps at some point you could do a video on various papers for us to experience success vs mud, awful paintings? The gorgeous Hahnemule (sp?) surface from the Expression & Cezzane blocks are like glass to paint on... beautiful. I'm having a TERRIBLE time with: * W&N sheets, blocks, 100 cotton * Indigo wiropad 100 cotton * Bockingford block cotton? * book bound 140# India paper, heavy, thick cotton sheets in each book. LOTS of cotton! (the surface is like stew!) * Hahnemuhle Anniversary block, cotton? Thank you very much, Angela. You've made these papers look SO easy to paint on. I realize how astonishingly busy you are, but this would help a great deal. whenever you get more free. :) Fanna Turano

Hi Angela, this was a great video to see some limits to follow while painting. I have a habit of over working my loose paintings or being over anxious to keep working to correct my efforts. I know you have talked about this before, but I am still rushing the process.

My biggest challenge is not becoming stalled during one of the many moments that demand a decision. I so responded to having too many choices. My skills to limit those choices aren’t well-developed. Which colours, what style, is the composition working, which technique, wait til it’s dry or charge in while wet? 🤯 I think a lot of that will develop, but it’s a lot for beginners if you don’t want to copy someone else’s decisions!
