Good to hear about this project. i will be looking forwwrd to it. My small community sticked to MKIII after the IV. New edition was not what we wanted of this game.

100%, mine flat died overnight, almost literally after building up from 3ppl up to 20 over the last 3 years. It was heart breaking for some of us older players. Mk3.5 has gotten everyone excited again. I can't wait!

We're playing Mk II. Although my Skorne and Cephalyx books have vanished. I will be checking this out. I have waaaay too many models.

Personally, Legacy models are what I'm interested in the most. I caught onto IKRPG a little bit late, but Requiem is really where I could flourish, yet building an IKR campaign is a very large project. I believe I have enough minions and trollbloods that I could play a game of Hordes, but I still feel like I'm just getting started. I don't even have much for Cygnar models and that's a pretty high-traffic area for basic games. I'm still hoping for rereleases. I don't have a Troll King yet, either. The demand to sell happens a lot faster than I can make enough money to buy what I want.

Huzzah,, Cygnar was my faction and Stryker was my Warcaster. I liked the Gun mages, SwordKnights, Stormblades for the most part. All of which has been drastically changed or gone away leaving me a massive amount of models that are no longer available to be fielded.

Glad to see other OG players taking up the mantle and keep the game going. I'll say from my community, we found the sweet spot in MKIII to be 50 points. Large enough to allow for variance/customization but small enough to force list build decisions and sacrifices to be made. This further seemed demonstrable in Onslaught play at 150+ as most of the time it meant an army had 3 casters leading 50pt detachments or VERY RARE instances of 2 caster armies at 75

As someone who played 2 and 3 and enjoyed the tourney scene, yeah screw PP. The FOTM crap in late 3rd then just making all my models obsolete in 4th... kick rocks a-holes. You get no more of my money, ever.

MK 3 pissed me with theme lists (cutting your army in 3, limiting mercs) and archon power creep. MK 4 didn't help rotating old models out. I get 20 years old game can rotate some stuff out, but not a whole range of models... In Cygnar I could probably stil use Stormguard, Stormblades and Stormlances as their new counterparts, but waht about the rest ? I guess if I can find some willing players I canplay legacy game with my "storm" and trencher models, but Gun Mages seems to be dead end gone. Even in MK 3 they got the short end of the stick, now they're gone I guess.

@@jameskurth3560 same here. eCaine model sold me on Cygnar and I absolutely loved models like Black 13th, "the dude" and new ATGM sculpts.

Man the salt needed to be so upset about rule changes to create a home brew rule set must be staggering. I don’t see how this project will help the game at all in the broader sense. Mk4 rules took a little while to get used to, especially the movement, but I honestly think the rules are in the best place they’ve been. All models have Unlimited rules, so you can still use older models. There’s a couple guys in my meta that primarily play unlimited lists against Prime lists and it’s just fine. SFG plans to really start marketing mk4 which will hopefully be bringing new players in. New players will be learning and using the new rules. So if your goal is to be the grumpy dudes in the corner playing their own rules, that seems like a good way to alienate new players. The more productive route to me seems to learn mk4 and put all this time and effort into running demo games and introducing the game to new people to help the momentum of the game.

Fair enough. I was just getting into the game then had to move. I came back with a large collection ready to go and found out none of it is usable in mk4 events. I'll just be playing unlimited and trying to find some missing units I want on ebay. In their case running for 20 years I can see being frustrated.

Homebrew and continuing to play previous editions of games is common in the tabletop wargaming and RPG space, however. What's happening here isn't really remarkable. It's just been framed controversially because of how Privateer Press rolled out MK4. Which caused a lot of confusion, uncertainty, and frustration.
