I only recently got into 40k, mainly (of course) the lore and stories of the space marines, both pre and post heresy. However, my friend gave me his original copy of “first and only” from ‘99 and it is BY FAR one of the BEST books I have ever read. I got given that book three days ago… I’ve read it twice now. If you read this comment and haven’t read the gaunt’s ghosts series - or for that matter - ANY of Dan Abnett’s novels, do YOURSELF the favour. For feth’s sake it will NOT disappoint.

Naomi's library of paints is actually really useful, I found her channel literally a few weeks ago through her speedpaint reviews.

Wouldnt it be better for the enemy player to hide the position of his units by placing them on secondary map that only he can see and only reveal them when he wants to disclose their position/ has been spotted. Would make the game a lot more interesting and challenging not knowing what is around the corner

I never owned this edition of the game, so not sure if they had suggested names for the marines. I just noticed that the names you used for the marines were the same used by StrikingScorpion82 in his Space Hulk batreps. Did you name them in homage of his channel? Or is this from the rulebook? Or is this all just a coincidence?

Great guest. While I appreciate her recognition of the state of our hobby, what I like most about Naomi is that she has always struck me as a kind person in her videos, and not just in the sometimes fake “She’s just a friendly Canadian, Eh?” kind of way. I don’t get the sense she’s trying to look elite compared to us southern bumpkins.

If 'Siege' has the entire 7th Division, why did he assault this thing with only a journeyman, a gun mage, 4 'jacks, and a handful of Trenchers?

For the Stormblade to miss the knocked down model, it's 2d6 roll had to add up to a total of -1. They are RAT 5, and knocked down models are DEF 5. (Obviously, it rolled double 1.)

There is a setting to turn friendly fire on. I miss the interface the way it was when you filmed this. For one thing, you can no konger just end out of turn activations, so far as i have been able to discover. You HAVE to at least do a change facing before it lets you end. Also, they apparently broke some units since the last update, which was some years ago. Painting doesn't work at all now, either. Again, for me, maybe someone else has better functionality. Its quite laggy on my machine where it never used to be.

Destructible terrain rules have actually been in Warmachine as an optional from the very beginning.

Am almost done with The Founding, Necropolis might be my favourite in this omnibus. I bought a few of the Guants Ghosts books and slept on them for a long time because each omnibus is quite long. Gaunt is a very cool character and made me actually like commissars. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend The Macharian Crusade. Angel of Fire, Fist of Demetrius and Fall of Macharius.

finally managed to get it running (An SSD being a requirement was new) and ended up uninstalling it about 20 minutes later, didn't appreciate being stun locked during the tutorial constantly despite how lovely the game looked. This game was such a disappointment so far... I may bring myself to try again at some point but right this second I seriously doubt that :(
