You guys are smart to check on the work, imagine if you were in the US, what they would do when you aren't looking. We had the same problem with the walls not being sealed. The worse thing the albaniles did was to allow wet concrete to go down the sewage pipes and a year later we had to have all the sewage pipes blown out which was a horror. That Shitake color is awesome, it changes color with the light and looks very classic, good choice. Very dark grey paint on the ironwork would be a subtle choice (its what I plan to repaint our ironwork ).

Yeah I could only imagine what it would look like if we weren’t here. I’m sure we’ll be making changes as we live in the house but for now just getting it done is my priority. The ironwork will be black but I’m sure that’s something we’ll be changing. 😝

I am glad you guys are keeping tabs on what the contractor is doing on site. I know it can be frustrating but it will pay off in the end. It’s difficult to get them to come back to make good, so catch it now! Great work guys! The two of you are doing a wonderful job!

Thank you for the comment. We are trying to keep tabs but it’s difficult not knowing construction or processes here. But we’re making it through. I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I sure things won’t be perfect.

love the neutral colour… consider an off-black or almost black instead of pure black - it will feel more organic and natural

It's a nice restful color in this heat and you only have to buy one can for touchups! It's frustrating when people tell you one thing and then do something else. Extra profit for them for less work and many conveniently ignore warranty requests. I am crossing my fingers that your architect steps up.

Thank you for your comment. I hope the architect steps up too. We’ve considered trying to find someone to come in and do a final inspection before we pay him the final payment. The architect has a good reputation so I’d think he’d want to preserve.
