What about the rules of composition where you don't place your horizon line in the middle of the painting and with this painting it would have been easy to move it up or down

Hi Loramay. There are no rules in composition - only guidelines which can either be useful or ignored. For example, in this study, it was useful to draw attention to the mirror effect of the water by making it equal top and bottom.
