Man that is a nice River to paddle when it is extremely hot. All that shade. Dan I can definitely agree with you about just getting out and paddles. That is what I do. It's not easy being a truck 🚛 driver when you have a wife , five boys , and a granddaughter to worry about when am on the road & and have to drive over 5000 miles by the end of the week. Kayaking is my stress reliever. Just pack a cooler for Beverages and something to eat and hit the water. Me and my kids in general just love playing in the water but fine kayaking more funner to do. You definitely are getting famous out there. You can't hit a body of water without someone knowing you but that is awesome and congratulations to you that means your channel is getting out there. When I saw one of your videos I said I have to check this channel out it was so good I had to subscribe to your Channel I've been watching you every since. I love what you doing man keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing! We live in cullman al. And been wanting to kayak for years. So I'm going to buy our 1st kayak this weekend! Will need enough for 5 people eventually. Been wanting do something fiscal the whole family can do together! Can't wait!!! I think I'm going to get a 2 man to start so at least me and one of my kids and get started.

I like that you're not just going "overboard" (figuratively speaking, of course) buying a bunch of boats. I think you will absolutely be pleased with that method and it will allow you to better select the later kayaks to fit your family's needs after you get a little experice- great plan!! Plus, kayaks are still selling pretty good, so you could even offload the tandem if you decide to later replace it with a pair of kayaks.

The peacefulness of your videos is the polar opposite of the noise and chaos in mine, I need some of this in my life. Picking up the kayak Friday, you're making me even more excited!
@SouthernPaddler3 жыл бұрын
Lol- I'm glad you enjoy them!! I like a little excitement on the water every now and them (Class II rapids or less), but the tranquility is what I need! I regularly call it my therapy!! :-D Give me holler when you get your boat and we'll hit the water.

I went down the paint rock a couple of months ago. Put in at freedom baptist church in estillfork and pulled out at the county rd 142 bridge. This was upriver of where you guys were paddling.

Oh wow- that is upstream. I've paddled from Rocky Hollow down, but not above. How is that trip?

@@SouthernPaddler it wasn’t bad, although I wish I had gone earlier when the flow was better. Had to drag the boat a couple of times, but not far. Saw some Asian carp. Did the outfitter on the paint rock just reopen?

Pretty little creek. Noticed we us the same paddle. I'm not liking it for fishing...noisiest, fish scaring paddle I've used. :)

Lol- it's probably because it has a fairly large blade... which is why I like it. It can move a lot of water!!

I used the Paint Rock Canoe & Kayak outfitter which runs from their outpost on Hwy 72 (private put it I think) down to where Hwy 72 crosses the Paint Rock (upstream from Butler Mill). They used to have a trip down to Butler Mill and I've done it once or twice, but they don't run that stretch anymore.
