Paint Scheme: 1st Pennsylvania Regiment (1777)

The miniatures of this unit (a mixture of Perry Miniatures, Warlord Games miniatures, Fife and Drum miniatures, and Foundry miniatures) are painted up based upon desertion reports from April of 1777.
This is the 1st Pennsylvania Regiment (1st Continental Regiment), not to be confused with the 1st Pennsylvania Battalion, which was later re-designated as the 2nd Pennsylvania Regiment.

I really like how you have researched the subject, and then applied it to these figures. Really does make the regiment unique for that period. Oh, and the painting is top notch.

Can you do a battle set up of the Pennsylvania Rifles? You paint these figures very well. Are there any books you recommend about the Pennsylvania Regiments? I like to get more ideas on how the troop maneuvers were.

Unfortunately I don’t have these anymore; painted these up many years ago and sold them off to make room for new miniatures! I no longer paint AWI minis so you’re better off asking reenactors or historians for good books, as I have not kept up with recent works on them. 😅

Im loving your videos. I doubt you'll see this but what is you source for the deserter reports? I'm new to minis and focused on ACW but want to do some AWI from Kentucky soon. Your stuff is very inspiring. Please keep up the good work.

Thanks! My sources vary from newspaper clippings to books. Best thing to do is check your local library for subscriptions to sites like newspapers.com that have tons of period papers scanned and searchable. I also have two books I bought on Amazon that have all the deserter reports in them.

@@AnExtrovertPaints I'd like to see what you're doing now...question for you...the insert in the plastic British box says you can use them for the '77 regulation Continentals...you think you could use them for the French as well???
