The brass on the rifle stock is for storing leather patches. Used for wrapping around the ball to keep it tight in the barrel. This helps to make the ball spin and therefir mire accurate.

In simplest terms, the sheathing pouch over the bullet reduces barrel windage.
@NSYresearch4 жыл бұрын
@@corvusboreus2072 if you understand windage ...yes. I did simplify the description to help those who are less knowledgable about firearms and such.

Great tips!! Thanks Travis! Will use your colour scheme when I finally get round to Naps!

Think I might get a box of these, also the barrel was a brown colour and the strap for the powder horn was a cord in the same green colour of the uniform

Thanks Travis, great job. Interesting thought & use of a lighter green for rifle/jaeger units, as you say otherwise just tends to be black and green blobs, I will give that a try. Cheers👍

Thank you for the tips. I will use this as a guide when I get to paint my own 95th rifles this next month for Sharp Practice. I am also looking forward to your Red coats video to use as a guide.

My next painting project are 8 of these . I experimented with 1 with using contrast Green and hadn't been settled whether it works . Now I know why . Like you said they need a bit of brightness on the war table

Great tips travis thanks. Have you tried the different paint handles out there ? I think that would help you while you are doing these painting videos.

Hey, nice job and thank you for the video. What movement tray is that at the end, and do you have a link to where you can get them?
@tabletopcp2 жыл бұрын
I got those from a company called Warbases. For 25mm round bases. They have tons of options.

A question for you Travis .... when I'm painting figures if i touch the painted figure the paint and primer seem to come off. Yet you seem not to have that problem. What am I doing wrong?
@tabletopcp4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. That seems weird. It shouldn’t come off to the touch. I would change to a different primer. Make sure to let it dry overnight. I use krylon flat grey primer. Haven’t had an issue.
@NSYresearch4 жыл бұрын
@@tabletopcp I did wonder if it were the primer. I use the GW Seer spray primer in a can.
@tabletopcp4 жыл бұрын
Tim Bix I wouldn’t bother. Get a five dollar can of flat grey krylon at the hardware store. Works just as well and maybe better.
@BattleBunkerHQ4 жыл бұрын
Tim, this can happen to metal figures more than plastic but not uncommon. Make sure you wash the figure to clean off the mould release powder residue as that can form a barrier between your primer and your miniature. Also make sure if using a rattle can primer, give it a good shake and try not to spray in damp conditions and make sure the can is at room temperature, these help get better results. Hope that helps.

@@BattleBunkerHQ I bought some lovely Empress Minitures recently and did this, I took extra care with the primer and tried not to touch the figure. It seemed to work, then after i finished i varnished them .... doh ! GLOSS BLOODY VARNISH.
