It true oddity (like the witches) Eastwood has undoubtedly made odd choices from PYW which may at the time have been considered a sure hit , but ended up as HEAVENS GATE with singing. Eastwood and Marvin are terrific as is seberg (In a largely thankless role) some of the musical sequences really do work but I find it largely heavy handed now But when I watched it on TV as a kid in seventies and eighties and it on inevitably through Xmas the difference between singing Clint/ spaghetti cowboy Clint and dirty harry Clint was profound. I love Lee Marvin's performance in this. Some may not like this film, but I think Wondering star did get to number 1.
