I know this vid is a few years old now, but it's been a great inspiration for me to attempt to put more effort into my art and attempting rendering, which is something I've been far too afraid of lol, so thank you for making this!

I just painted my first crystal then went further and made a crystal phial with lighting in it. I really wish that you slowed down just a bit so I can see how you choose the brushes and effects I had to keep stopping it but it was definitely helpful in learning the basic.

I have more real-time tutorials in the Digital Painting Academy, but I'll keep in mind to slow down for the next video 😃

Now if you could teach me how to paint approximately 1000 of these without going insane that'd be great, thanks!
@Paintable Жыл бұрын
I feel you. 😄 You could sketch a couple different crystals, maybe with some basic flat colors, and duplicate these sketches. You can transform the shape of some of them and add the details manually to make them unique.
@danielaivanova1498 Жыл бұрын
That's actually not a horrible idea, they do have a same-ish shape. I will do that and report back@@Paintable

Worked out rather well! I still ended up painting a lot by hand, but not nearly as much. Thank you for the tip!@@Paintable

Can you explain step by step, like what exactly I click on or enable to get that gradient on the crystal? Like where you see that circle gradient thing in the upper right corner of the video. I'm confused. It went so fast.
@Paintable2 жыл бұрын
That color palette on the upper right corner of the video is a Photoshop plugin called Coolorus. paintable.cc/coolorus Here's how you achieve that gradient on the crystal: - Create a selection of the shape of your crystal - Create a group (selection is still active) - Click on the mask icon to create that layer mask on the group - Create a layer in that masked group and paint a base color for your 💎 - On another layer with a soft round brush paint with a lighter color Hope this helps 🙂
