I always wear a Planet Eclipse FLexFit hat. Keeps paint out of my hair and keeps the back of my neck from getting sunburned. I also really like the Planet Eclipse head wrap. Its great for hot weather, keeps your head and neck covered from the sun, and keeps the sweat out of your eyes

the other day i got shot on my forehead from prob 3 feet away, rung my bell forsure and instantly made my eyes all watery. by the time i walked off the field , the area i got hit just swelled up and even broke skin. I now have a headband on the way from amazon :D not to look aggressive ;p before i started playing i always thought the headbands were just a trendy thing but boy i was wrong.

I usually just wear an old ball cap. The very few times I've been shot in the head it only stings a little bit with the ball cap on.

2022 update: GET 2ND SKULL ORIGINAL VERSION NOT THE PRO VERSION. 2nd skull has a special light waight small size foam that absorbes impacts. Its very very good. Got shot 5 feet away and had no lump or sourness. I felt the shot but it wasn't bad at all. Its also super thin and confortable. Dont get the pro version though. The pro version is advertised to be more breathable but it has paintball sized holes in the actual foam and also large spaces in 4 lines on the sides that leave it way to exposed for paintball. The original slaps!! 2nd skull is my new fave cap, it also bounces like crazy!

I like my headwrap. Pads the forehead, the loose bit on the back of the neck gives a little protection from both sun and paintballs and the mesh breaths...my head gets too hot for hats and beanies... while keeping paint and dirt from coating your head(for the most part)

I just started getting back into paintball again, and i use a dew rag/head wrap; but i also bought a Vforce Profiler mask specifically for the deflector that it comes with. Instead of installing the visor(it comes with one as well) the deflector is a rubber like piece that covers your brow.

That halo skullcap has worked out really well for me. I am not a fan of head wraps and it is too hot for a beanie for me 3 seasons out of the year. The halo cap fits nicely, breaths great, and has held up to weekly play and washing

With the hat or head band it can feel like too many layers with mask foam so you can take off the upper layer of foam in your mask, only problem is you wont want to wear your mask without the headband or hat.

I sweat...A LOT. I cut the sleeves of old ratty t shirts and bring like 3 of them with me to the field. The t shirt sleeve is the 1st layer of sweat absorption, then I wear a plain Jane dollar store bandana as the 2nd layer. Usually bring 2 or 3 bandanas to the field along with the t shirt sleeves. On really hot days I will change out both the sleeve and bandana like 3 or 4 times the entire day. I might buy an actual pball bandana. Does anybody have any brand suggestions for a sweaty dude? Thanks.

Don't use co2, its bad for you gun and HPA tanks will help improve your accuracy. Make sure you get a good, high end mask. A high end mask won't fog and it will be a a lot more comfortable. Don't be afraid to ask for help or ask questions. Most refs and regular players will help you out if your having gun problems or don't know what to do in a game. Dont be afraid to get shot, if you hide in the back because you're afraid of getting shot then you won't have a good time. Paintball is a team sport so talk to you team and work together and you will almost out always win. HAVE FUN.
