+Bored out of my Mind During the turn the track flexed enough for the track sprocket to walk out of the track. I've since added another row of guide teeth and redone the tensioning system to help prevent that problem.

Simple question: over the fun to built a tank, what is the use of it in airsoft? I mean no player can destroy the tank so the tank crew can only win as it can't get hit...
@Murr1can8 жыл бұрын
Le Debunker If the viewports are blocked with paint, or the crew gets shot from on the inside, then they are out. Yes, you can hit the crew
@JamesCookTinyTank4288 жыл бұрын
Captain Michael J. Caboose The way we play now is there's a clay target mounted to the back of the tank. if you you can get around behind the tank and break the target you knock the tank out.

Very, very cool. How does an enemy take out the tank?
@JamesCookTinyTank4289 жыл бұрын
+Thane David Thanks So far just tank on tank or I have a small Thunder grenade launcher that can fire the same nerff pocket footballs that the tanks shoot. I have been toying with the idea of building a clay target holder and mounting it somewhere on the rear of the tank to make it more difficult to hit.
@thane13269 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I'd love to see large-scale battles with lots of people, and each team has a tank, and the tanks can be "Destroyed" by hitting the targets. Some problems with that are the driver may not know the target is hit. Maybe the driver can have a radio, and someone radio them telling them the target is hit and there tank is "Destroyed". Another problem is that people can be a little brainless and they might not be careful around the tank, and they might get there foot run over. Who is allowed to use these tanks, and do you use them in actual games? Thanks for reading and replying btw.
@JamesCookTinyTank4289 жыл бұрын
+Thane David Your welcome and I have hopes of one day taking one or two of them to the Oklahoma D-Day game but haven't made it there yet. As for who's allowed to use the tanks so far it's been me and my wife. We've spent a lot of time and money to build them so we're a bit protective of them.
@christinamcintosh73069 жыл бұрын

@MrTomthebomb2710 жыл бұрын
What's the powerplant used in the tank? Diesel?
@JamesCookTinyTank42810 жыл бұрын
Both tanks are powered by a honda gas Engine pushing tandem hydraulic pumps. The leopard has a 20hp engine and the E-25 has a 22hp Engine.
@FondlesHandles10 жыл бұрын
James Cook did you build these tanks? and how did you get the modeling for the E-25? based on the fact that there were no prototypes of the E-25 ever made, i am going to assume that you play or have played World of tanks. it looks good and all, but the E-25 had side mounted external fuel tanks not a rear mounted one.
@JamesCookTinyTank42810 жыл бұрын
Skandranon Banefire Yes my wife and I built these tanks and are currently working on a third. I used a 1/35 scale model kit of the E-25 to get the dimensions then multiplied by 17.5 to get half scale. I do play wold of tanks on xbox and am looking forward to playing the E25 when they add it. The rear fuel tank is actually a muffler not a fuel tank. The model came with the option of a dual exhaust or a single external muffler so that's the design I went with.
@FondlesHandles10 жыл бұрын
James Cook that's pretty cool. the e25 is a really fun tank, you're gonna love it.
@JamesCookTinyTank42810 жыл бұрын
Skandranon Banefire Thanks. I love playing with my hetzer and my jagdpanther but neither are quiet an E-25 so I'm pretty eager to get my hands on a actual E-25

TinyTank428 Nice, im considering a similar concept but I intend to just strip a zero turn and mount it to a wheel driven chassis, i figure i can work out a way for a compressor to run off the mower deck sprocket. i dont intend to infringe on your work in any way i just stumbled onto it doing research

+Channing Crawford Each build has cost me right around ten thousand.
@channingcrawford38868 жыл бұрын
I watched the E-25 build videos, it looks like for the road wheels you took bike wheels and welded disks onto them to look like the real thing. Am I correct in this assumption or did you do something else?
@channingcrawford38868 жыл бұрын
Also how much does it usually cost for you to build the tracks?
@JamesCookTinyTank4288 жыл бұрын
+Channing Crawford The road wheels are a 20" flat free marathon wheel used for hand carts. I bolted a piece of plate to the out side of the wheels to give it strength and the proper look I ended up bolting another piece to the inside of the wheels for more strength. Here's a link to the wheels.www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200381571_200381571 The tracks cost around 300 a track in materials to build.

@JamesCookTinyTank4288 жыл бұрын

@panzerfaust50468 жыл бұрын
James Cook easy fix?
@JamesCookTinyTank4288 жыл бұрын
+Panzer Faust Yeah loosen the tensioner wheel then drive a pin out to split the track. Then put it back on the sprocket and put the pin in and tighten it back up, 20min tops. Now correcting the problem that's another story I've been working on that one and it's better but not solved.
