Haha, "or 13" is quite accurate. This was a regular canvas with a wood framed back and the dimensions of 10" X 8". I'm glad you brought that question up, I will try to add it to the description box from now on
@RyanORourkeArtist

It seems I always have questions but they help me learn lol! How did you pick up the paint on the square headed brush to make the tree trunks? I want to try and replicate that kind of look but I don't want to assume you did it one way and the trees look a total mess
@RyanORourkeArtist
@RyanORourkeArtist 7 жыл бұрын
I try to keep all of the pigment on the edge of the bristles. If you use a lot of paint it can be messy and hinder your sharp lines. Also, don't apply a lot of pressure, otherwise the bristles will expand and you will end up with larger trunks. I hope that helps!

Just out of curiosity, how's the humidity where you're painting? I always have a problem with paints blending INTO the lower layer when I want them to go OVER it. Sometimes I even resort to a hair dryer because I'm tired of waiting for them to dry enough. (Don't know how oil painters manage.)
@RyanORourkeArtist
@RyanORourkeArtist 7 жыл бұрын
The humidity drastically changes where I'm located. However, I haven't ever really found it an issue. I would highly advise letting your lower layers FULLY DRY when you intent to put a lighter color over top of it. I actually work a lot with oils (off of this channel) and some paintings take literally years. Don't worry about finishing your paintings quickly, just enjoy the process :)

Why do I always end up with an olivy green colour when miXing blues and yellows?
@RyanORourkeArtist
@RyanORourkeArtist 5 жыл бұрын
The best way to get a basic green is by mixing primary yellow and primary blue. Other blues and yellows can have other pigments in them which may be creating the olivy color. Also, if you add black to your mixture it will mix with the yellow to create a more olivy tone :)

I am so grateful for you and your help. Thank you from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
