You've really inspired me to do more smaller paintings with a limited palette, and I have to say it's a lot harder than I imagined but fun all the same. I can't manage something like this in 10 minutes, but I'm going to get there! Thanks for these videos Ryan, they're so helpful.

I like that it's very inspired by Bob Ross, but you're not trying to be him, you're doing it your own natural way. It doesn't feel forced. Good job!

I enjoy watching bob ross' tutorials and recreating them. One other person is you i think. I love your ten minute videos. Its quick and inspiring to do. I already recreated your mountains painting. And that was my best one. I wish i could show it to you. Also, Your voice reminds me of Adam's from the parenthood. Keep up the good work.

It looks best without the trees.
@RyanORourkeArtist7 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to incorporate them in your rendition :) I do prefer the piece with the trees. With that said, just so you’re aware. Art is innately subjective. It cannot be objectively measured and thus assertions like ‘best’ are improper nomenclature. (Unless of course you preface your statement with the notion that it is in fact your opinion) The same rule applies to other artistic endeavors which do not have a universally agreed on fixed set of standards such as film :)

Could you please give some tips about the paint, wetting the brushes/surface, and the equipment if one wished to recreate your paintings on a wall?

When you did the clouds, did you use water, glaze or just a really soft touch to make it look ethereal?

It was actually a good mix of both water and a soft touch :)

really wonderful painting. can u do 10~min water colour painting?
@lyndseyknipe98277 жыл бұрын
Absolutely stunning! But what if we do not have an "old square brush" for the background gradient/trees? I only have new brushes 😬
@lakshyabakshi49557 жыл бұрын
get a synthetic brush with veeeeeeeeeeeeery stiff bristles and start smashing it against a hard surface, and no surprise, u wreck your brush, but it is good for creating that effect. (use cheap brushes)

Um...do I have to wet the paper first or the paints, plz help , im new to poster paints
@RyanORourkeArtist7 жыл бұрын
I actually don't advise painting on paper. With the amount of layering we do it will probably warp. I'm using a small canvas board here. In regards to what you should wet, I just generally ensure that my brush is damp :)
