I love the ceiling in its natural state. So many interiors are showcasing natural wood ceilings; accented with natural wood chairs and dressers. You can always whitewash the ceiling later if you still feel moved to do so. I hope you are feeling better.

A suggestion: if the mural ends up seeming too dark, you could experiment with a very thin wash of the background paint, sponge over trees, to knock it back in tone. It'll give the room a lighter feel and a sense of being aged. Of course, practice with wash consistency before applying over your lovely mural work. Also, keep the lightweight area of the window "lighter," and it'll help reflect northern light into the room. You're quite lifted. You'll work it out.

Well, the natural wood ceiling lends warmth to the room. I’d leave it. The chandelier in the hallway could be used in the new bedroom because it’s too big for the hall and the leave motif goes with your beautiful mural! I love your artwork!

yep I finished it in that same day as I promised. angle grinder with diamond cup, spring water on the working area and powerful vacuum to remove all the dust - it's the perfect workflow for this job, the only one improvement I can suggest - to use special marble floor sanding\polishing machine you can find in Leroy merlin, but they cost a lot.

Love the new mural and I he chandelier goes perfectly. For the slugs put out bows of beer. A waste of good beer for sure, but it works. Your garden is really becoming so beautiful Your neighbors must enjoy looking at it.

I think painting the ceiling white will give it the look you want and the texture of the wood will still have the look of an aged wood ceiling. Go with your gut!

If it were me, I would lighten the wood as it would make the room a lot brighter and easier to live with. The mural is going to look great, and I like the chandelier.

Алла, я на своем огороде вкапываю в землю пластиковые бутылки с пивом, горлышки оставляю открытыми, слизни очень любят пиво, они вползают в горлышко, напиваются, а обратно выпозти не могут, я закрываю бутылку крышкой и выбрасывю. За ночь наползает до 10-15 особей. RS пиво беру самое дешевое и наливаю ( закрываю донышко)

The wood ceiling is so amazing. Why do all the work of sanding to paint over it? Your inspiration photo of the mural has a slightly lavender background. The brown of the ceiling and purple goes well together. I think a white ceiling will make the background look even dirtier. Leave the gorgeous ceiling and just make the background slightly lavender.

Have you tried bleaching the wood rather than painting it ? If it doesn't bleaching to the right colour you could always paint it.❤ love the mural. I used a dilution of oxalic acid crystals which I bought online.

The mural inspiration picture did not have a fuzzy over paint. My take on it is clean crisp cream walls behind the trees. But this is my opinion. Love your decorating, you have a good touch.

Maybe could be a little bit lighter as you said.The ceiling needs paint for sure.But I think not clear white.If I may suggest , paint it very very light green.The old bean should rest dark as you said.Your lamp is beutiful for this bedroom. If you remember there is headboard to the bed in the antique shop.If it's too high you can cut the legs. I wish you luck with your bedroom.I think it will be very nice!

Hi! I have been enjoying your vlog. I love your passionate and playful spirit! You and Serge make such a lovely couple and have been creating a wonderful home and garden. I wonder what the ceiling might look like painted in a tone found in the mural rather than white? I appreciate your desire to bring more light into the room but think that the ceiling might also look nice if the colour were to match the colour of the beam (or the wood of the chair) which is darker than the current colour of the ceiling. It would better complement the colour of the chandelier than white. I’m looking forward to seeing how this room evolves. Best regards.

Good to see you in your other happy place...painting murals. Garden is #1😁 I think the colours will work out once you do the ceiling. Maybe leave opposite wall where bed will be plain or very minimal mural & put a big mirror to reflect the light. Maybe you could add little light brushstrokes to tips of leaves or something to lighten mural once room is finished if you think its still too dark. Anyway Im sure you'll work it out, you always do. The chandelier looks good for the room too. Love it Alla & of course hubby Sergis work too.

I hope you leave the ceiling natural. Please! The mural looks perfect. Dark furniture, like your chair maybe balances the ceiling from your view. The window color appears to work with the ceiling. Maybe it's the white casing and door that create what you are seeing as a visual problem? A tone that would blend and tie the ceiling and the window ...BUT I think furniture is the answer. That said I hope you wait on changing the ceiling.
