Painting a Napoleonic Italian General featuring Army Painter Speedpaint metallics

Hello everyone and welcome to my latest video.
I desperately need command figures for my Napoleonic French army to make it suitable for playing games. This is a guide for painting a general of the Kingdom of Italy to lead a brigade. I used a Pery French metal figure from pack FN97. This video features my first use of Army Painter Speedpaint metallics. Full list of paints used below.

very sharp work! I find that contrast/speed paints are always tricky with historical minis but I have to say your work always seems to get great results without having to go back in repaint everything traditionally. I certainly gonna take some of the lessons here with Jacobite Irish troops I'm working on for my League of Augsburg army

I know what you mean. I often consider them useful for base coats that I can go back to with acrylic paint to tidy up. However, when there are dozens in a unit, I don't mind the odd tide mark!

Lovely work mate. Interesting to see the speed paint metallics in action as well. Do you reckon they’re a decent investment?

I think they are pretty good and a time saver for sure. I need to try some others to get a silver colour I am happy with. Enchanted Steel is just too dark for silver lace.
