This is the one I thought I didn’t get a free print try, it came up while I’d been writing down the colors you used last time, & missed it. Very worth watching just for the clouds!

I am just in awe! Watching your tutorial of all the details you take for this gorgeous seascape. You are a very talented artist, I could never have your patience to finish this piece, but would love to. I only use acrylics when I paint. Just had to tell you how great you are! I have watched most all of your videos and a great fan! Take care.

Chuck, if you are painting a morning theme as opposed to an evening theme, does it effect how you choose color? Just curious, thank you!

Good lesson, thank you. I really like the brown palette, it allows you to "see" the colours better. I love my wooden palette for this reason.

You are most correct, I'm not a fan of white or clear. A mid-tone helps me see more clearly

I watch already two videos of you. I like the way you show to paint step by step to touch up. I wonder how easy you blend the colors. Mine is dry to fast that almost impossible to blend wet on wet. I see your acrylic paint come from a small bottle do you mixed and prepare your paint before with some kind of medium to make it more runny?

I love watching you! Why are your clouds mostly yellow, gray, & brownish, and not bright white with touches of yellow! I’m amazed at the bright white fluffy clouds being the stormiest! Are you putting another level, and I’m too impatient?

Beautiful work It seems my paintings all end up much darker than I want. How do you overcome that?
@chuckblackart7 жыл бұрын
Been there, try focusing more on mixing your colors uncomfortably too light for what you think. Don't focus on the end result of your painting and instead just try intentionally applying colors you think are a little too light. You have to learn the properties of each color which takes time. I have developed a relationship with every color I use and that took years. The key was always trying new things with them and eventually you learn to mix the colors you were after.

Hi, Love your paintings, how do you save the paint left over on your palette so you can use it the next day.

will this work for oil paint?
@popeye5837 жыл бұрын
thanks!
@chuckblackart7 жыл бұрын
I've used a lot of oil for these as well. That's a tough question, but the short answer is yes. The issue is that you would have to wait for each part to dry prior to applying the next part. It would be a wet on dry technique which just takes more patience with oil. Sometimes I even do the underpainting in acrylic then finish with oil wet on wet over the top. Thank you!
