It's really useful to watch a complete painting beginning to end, with explanations on everything you do, the reasoning behind it, the effect you expect it to have, etc. Rather than keeping it at a really high level like other channels, you dive into the actual brushtrokes, and the way the paint flows onto the canvas. This is a level of detail that is missing in almost every other art channel, and I really appreciate it.

Now that I'm a bit further along in the video, I just have to say, that was quite a journey. Well done.

I think so too. I've been taking some of the stuff Ryan is showing, and mixing it with stuff I've learned from Bob Ross and his explanation's as well. I think that I am getting a bit more of a mix to be able to give me more of the depth I would like in some of my paintings. Course the ones I am doing are more 18 X 20 than his smaller ones. I am going to try some of Ryan's flower ones from a different painting.

I'm very interested in especially painting water. I'm a beginner so watching this tutorial was very very helpful for techniques, learning values. the layering involved and timing it could take to create a painting of any kind. I was getting very frustrated and annoyed and thought maybe painting was not for me and I needed to stick to my drawings. Thank you for recording this video! I can now confidently paint water or a landscape and actually anything I desire with practice. patience and most of all having fun doing it! AGAIN. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

First i know this is an old video but im glad i stumbled upon this piece. It was definitely a journey! Just want to say thank you for reminding me it’s ok to paint and repaint and fix and adjust. Sometimes I discourage myself after I’ve worked something that in the end is not what i wanted. I get tempted to want to scrap the whole thing or give up thinking that’s the best I can do. But you empowered me to not give up and rather, just have patience and keep adjusting if needed. I don’t have to just accept mediocrity but keep trying when needed. Excited to apply this lesson in my next piece. Thank you! ❤

Beautiful. Your markings on the rock on the left looks like hieroglyphics!! Cant wait to try this as all the others I have tried have turned out nice. I have only been painting since 2017. I am over 65 and love it, so relaxing!!
Bob Ross teaches us, from the other side, how to create relatively easily very nice painting. Most interested people are gonna make it. But this is next level. Very nice :)

TY for explaining why dragging your paint down for tree trunks doesn't make them look natural. I'm so guilty of doing that ... never knew until now how that is a problem I've been having with trying to make my trees look realistic. I will try your method when I paint my trees ever again. TY also for all your tips and advice on how to paint. You are such a wonderful teacher for all of us. 😸

It is the first time that I watch one of your videos (lessons), I like to paint and I am taking it up again after about 40 years. Yes, I made it to the end, yes I subscribed and I liked it. Surely I will visit your you tube channel and perhaps the only question would be why you did not use a fan brush for the effect of splashing the water at the end of the fall. Thank you very much for sharing time and knowledge. Greetings from Venezuela
