Thank you, when I watch your videos I learn so much. I have never had formal training and appreciate how much you put into teaching the techniques and reasoning behind , on why it works etc. I watch a lot of painting tutorials and find you are the best at explaining the nuances and sometimes maybe what should be obvious to more advanced students. Really helps me. Many thanks.

Hi David Jansen, your pictures of horses are very nice. It was like a hayfield and the horses were sunbathing and grazing. The color of the picture is also very impressive, the horses look very real, like a 3D painting. Thank you for this wonderful work, your contribution to the art is wonderful.

It is like I have said though in many flower videos, your flowers get better when you paint other things and expand your artistic skills. Not just flowers. Learn techniques, that is what makes you a better artist.

I got to visit Casper Wyoming in the Winter time and loved it. Being from Texas, I enjoyed the snow. As a horse lover and owning horses, this painting really spoke to me. David, I have only been painting in acrylic for about 3 years so the techniques you are bringing to the table have really impressed me. I've got a lot to learn! Thank you sir.

I started painting 3 years ago after a traumatic brain injury. I was mainly painting watercolors and some oils . Then I dabbled in pastels, but never entertained the idea of acrylics until I just started watching you. Your techniques and paints are fascinating. You make them look like an oil, which I love, and you take the time to explain in depth everything, which I need. Thank you. I know you are a gifted artist and a learned one, and for you to freely teach us the way you do is amazing. I have recently bought all your sets of heritage paints except the greens. I just got the pine in that one, and a couple of the mediums and the starter brush set, and I can't wait to get started. Once again, my thanks to you. Michelle miller, marion ny

HI Michelle, You should join our group on MeWe.com. Lots of beginning artists there who share their work and we all grow together in the arts. I teach in the group almost daily. This group is for learning more about Heritage acrylics and just what acrylics can do. mewe.com/group/5fab2333b8d44f4a6946910e

Great painting. Wind River, WY is very beautiful. My dad used to live in Casper, WY in the early 70's. I have been out there several times. He and I went deer hunting on horseback in the foot hills of the Bighorn Mts. Good memories. I have also seen wild horses in Yellowstone.

@JansenArtEducation2 жыл бұрын
I have some videos on it. I am using board here. I just give 1 coat of Heritage Canvas Prep Medium and then sand with 180 grit sandpaper, then start the painting. That is it. No special prep needed with these acrylics.

How do you keep your paint from drying as you’re working? I’m new to painting and I am finding that acrylics dry so quickly. It’s helpful to see how you mix colors on your pallet.
@JansenArtEducation2 жыл бұрын
You can't put all acrylics in the same category. Heritage is a 2K acrylic that you can extend the drying time much longer than older generation acrylics. Not all acrylics are the same. Huge advancements in acrylics in last 30 years.... just like computers. Look for new generation acrylics that can adjust the drying time, if you want to keep them wet longer.
