Made it to the end, favorite holiday memory is when I was 9 and my mom and my brother and I, using a $1.00 "punch out" kit build a little cardboard village of 9 houses, complete with glitter and other details using elmers glue to hold it all together. 46 years later, that little village is still FULLY intact despite multiple moves and it being carried around in a shoe box for many of those years! That is because it is glued together not with Elmers.. but with LOVE. 💜 It is this painting that prompted me to join your Patreon group and I am at the point of doing the black hill of rocks under the cabin right now. Did the first half in about 6 hours! I work with graphite, watercolor and polymer clay but am new to acrylics and LOVE THEM. Your style is very fun to paint and I have a whole que lined up of other ones that I will be doing! Thank you!!!

A long time ago when I was a teenager out house in town had a fire. We got moved to a small seasonal rental on a reservoir way out in the country. That Christmas it snowed so much we couldn’t even get out of the driveway but I woke up early before anyone and went out to the edge of the woods to see at least 12 or so deer playing and eating in the field! It was pretty amazing but I’ve also always remembered it!

I just love this painting, i think i have seen your video 3 times now. I am building courage to trye it, but I have never painted a landscape before. This painting always reminds me of the winter when me and my husband built an Igloo with the kids. They ended up getting tired so they went in and we stayed until we were done. When the igloo was finished, the kids came out again, and we grilled sausages and bread over a small fire we made in the middle of the igloo. It was when the kids were small, now they are adults and now they are the ones who have to make good memories with their kids. But thanks for making me think back to that time.

Using a fan brush to make your snow works better and you don’t get your hands dirty lol just lay it down on the ground make sure you have an old blanket or plastic sheets and tap your brush on your hands over your canvas and it makes beautiful snow.

Thank you for the reminder of hydrating and eating, I tend not to do this as much while I paint. My favorite holiday memory is always going to be, taking a trip to pick out that perfect tree with the kids and the family. Bringing it home and decking the halls together. Decorating the tree and the house, while listening to all the classic Christmas tunes, then closing off the evening watching one of our favorite holiday movies. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, may you all be safe and warm. I am always thankful for you!

It took me a few days per usual but i finally got to finish this. It is beautiful! Looking forward to more! My favorite holiday memory would def have to be decorating the tree. My parents always made it a big thing that we did together and we would alternate years between my sister and I putting the star on top. My dad would lift us up so we could reach, def the best part. Also they recorded us opening presents so I have carried on this tradition because i loved watching them as i got older. So I am excited for the kids to wake up! Merry Christmas!

Absolute stunning painting, it´s so calming to watch you paint :) 💜 This made me think of last X-mas (the only good memory I have of X-mas in general, I HATE this time of year....with passion!) my husband got me paint, brushes, canvases, pads, painting knifes, he really went all out, and we usually don´t do the present thing, but he´d seen how much joy I´ve been getting out of painting (that´s my go to when I try do deal with emotions) and we went through a rough time that year (a family member passed away) so that memory lies really close to my heart 💜 for the first time I cried on X-mas out of joy.... The first thing I painted X-mas day, was kinda similar to what you painted here (not near as good tho LOL but I´m not in the "big" league like you) Thank you for sharing Mr Ryan :) 💜

My favorite memory is my husband and mine first Christmas. We lived in a different house and it had a big room and I wanted a big tree. So we went and cut our own tree it was big so big we couldn’t get it into the house without cutting branches off and shortening them when we got it into the house it was 4 feet too tall. After cutting it off Rodney made a cross cross board stand nailed it to the bottom and nailed that to the floor. He stood back and told me I told you it was too big for the house. Sadly my husband passed away 4-3-22 after 52 years of marriage.

As ever, great work. How do you keep your palette so clean? The clean, transparent palette is helpful in mixing colors and ensuring that the colors mixed match the reference pic. Although the art market is currently leaning toward abstracts and expressionism, realism is always respected. Again, keep up the great work.
