The foolproof version is to use a yellow ink after the red undertone and the light tan highlight. You can't cover too much with it and it's glorious.

@@VinceVenturella Hey man far as I'm concerned they're top notch amazing infotainment. Any new take is really valuable, like doing the yellow. I'm planning a wood elf army. I want to get a "sunlight shining through the canopy" look for the cloaks. I'm thinking thinking zenithal prime red, orange, white, then yellow (ink?), then the green as a contrast type glaze (ink again?), finally a deep blue oil for the shadows and a warm white oil for the highlights. I could do with your guidance. Am I thinking about this right?

I was looking forward to these once I heard about the donation for Tyler. Love this format but also understand why it is an incredibly rare piece of content due to the scope. I love how every step is broken down but skills and techniques that can transfer to any paint scheme are highlighted (e.g. the use of a limited palette). I wonder if you could expand on that piece of content and do other videos along those lines such as "(whatever the proper name for the limited palette is) for Basic SCE/whatever other faction" or maybe color theory around if you chose this as your primary color this is how you go about choosing those select few other paints. Keep up the awesome work and love the cliffhanger at the end!

Vince: "watch me get a whole army done in a week" Me: "watch me do a whole 10 Necron Warriors in two" Out of curiosity, do you thin your varnishes when using them through the airbrush? I've got AK matte varnish for my airbrush but I honestly just never get around to using it out of trepidation of getting the settings/consistency right and then just keep spending money on spray cans instead.

Wonderful work and a fun video! As for the back pain, I feel your pain! I have been unable to sit and paint for 6 weeks due to 3 herniated discs at once. I would also be interested in how you paint other models. In our game group, for example, BattleTech is currently a topic, and I would also like to paint the small mechs well. However, this seems much more difficult than, for example, on the Godmachines of Adeptus Titanicus.

4:36 have had great results with mixing about a 50/50 mix of AK ultra matt varnish into my inks. That way I save a step and I also don't need thinner for either. The end result is still a bit satin (which I like), but that can be easily tweaked by altering the ratio.

I am sitting here trying to finish a 40k ork goff army.... and i am on like 6 month finish the starter box and on my storm boyz. Am trying to paint players on the skin tone and it takes forever. And i am bettering a depression so i only paint like 20 min to about 1-2 hour a week. and your result look so amazing for using so many tools. like airbrush and all that. :)

Great video! When you do your varnishes through the airbrush, do you thin them at all, if so how? Thanks again!
@VinceVenturella
@VinceVenturella 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, everything is always thinned. A few drops of thinner basically 2-3 drops just to keep everything moving.

Great looking army! Hope Tylor will enjoy playing it! What takes you a week, took me almost 2 years... Got to practice more, I guess. Hopefully I'll finish painting my LRL to an acceptable standard in under a year...

Amazing work Vince, as always. I really like this method and would love to do this for my ironjawz army but in blue armour. What would be the shadow colour/s for blue armour please? Would love to hear your suggestions. Would a red under tones/ shadow colour?
@VinceVenturella
@VinceVenturella 6 ай бұрын
Something like a deep purple, red or even black could all work, depending on the tone you wanted.

Incredibly helpful video. If I were do do a similar scheme with red armour what colours would you use for the under shading? A dark brown maybe?
@VinceVenturella
@VinceVenturella 2 жыл бұрын
A darker brown base up to the same warm ivory.

This is great the view of the whole process on the same models instead of discrete topics is super helpful. Dumb question: is there a real difference between airbrush Flow Improver and things like Flow Aid from liquitex?

Nope, basically the same thing.
