Introducing the all-new 1/16 StuG III Ausf G, big-scale Armor plastic model.
This video is the complete painting and weathering of this beautiful plastic model kit. part two.
Part One is the building of this plastic model kit.
The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun was Germany's most-produced and successful fully tracked armored fighting vehicle during World War II, It was built on a modified Panzer III chassis, replacing the turret with an armored, fixed superstructure mounting a more powerful 75 mm gun. Initially intended as a mobile assault gun for direct-fire support for infantry, the StuG III was continually modified and was later employed as a tank destroyer.
This kit is due to be released in early December worldwide.
Happy scale modeling.

The person who told you that there were red fire extinguishers was sadly mistaken. In hundreds of original WWII colour photographs and surviving relics, they've never been seen. Original documents state that they were only available in camouflage colours (panzer grey, yellow, etc.). Now the fire extinguishers mounted inside the vehicle are a different story...but they were an apple green, not red. Just my two cents....great build, Andy!
@stevepringle2295
@stevepringle2295 2 жыл бұрын
That is not true. They’re several surviving examples of red, grey, dark yellow, greens and ever paint could be found at the moment.
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 2 жыл бұрын
@@stevepringle2295 No, those red ones are just repainted examples. Restored vehicles are not appropriate reference as museums get stuff wrong all the time. Remember Bovington's Blue Caunter scheme? That mislead modelers for decades because they admitted it was fiction. Original condition wartime relics, documents, and surviving colour (not colourized) photos are reputable.

Very true Mr. Panzermeister! I've done some research on the subject, fire extinguishers, on military vehicles and they were grey and never red. I thought I'd put my three cents in also. Kudos...

@@Narcrate140 I'm working on it now. The detail is really, really good. However, the road wheels and tracks were a complete bear to cut, clean, sand, prime, paint, assemble, weather, etc... Overall everything fit together very well. It's just a LOT of clean-up work. For the price of the kit, I think it's a good value. I'd give it 4 stars. I withhold 1star because of how much clean-up work is required with Das Werk kits.

its a weird thing watching this as a 1/35 nut as you forget its a bigger scale so the mud and some of the weathering looks really odd when it goes on but looks great at the end. I think mine will end up looking similar to yours - i like the nice light Kursk mud tone, layers of wet and dry, different tones etc. I'd have gone a bit darker i think and drybrushed the tyre rims to bring them out a bit, but i think we're more or less on the same page on how this needs to look. Nice job mate.

Nice camo skills..! That sort of airflow control takes time and touch! Must admit, I was worried when the mud was going on, but you reigned the whole thing in and it hangs together well as a finished model. I'm sure a lot of people will love this kit. Think I'd better crack out one of my Panzer 1 kits first though, even those are big - but 15 inches of Stug III [inc barrel] I seems pretty damned huge right now.

Great looking finish in the end. Can't wait to get mine to build. A couple of questions. Did you leave the top of the fighting compartment loose, so that it could be removed to display the interior? Plus I see that you painted the radios white, the same as the interior. Wouldn't these be a different colour, green maybe?

Watching the mud being applied to the vehicle I could not help but think of the hours I spent at the wash rack trying to get the mud off of my tank. At Ft Hood there is a lot of what we called "Gumbo" .. the tracks would churn dirt and clay into an evil mix that was really hard to remove even with pressure.

Hi Andy, it looks like a very nice kit to build and paint. And a really nice job of you. But the weathering seema a bit inconsistent to me. The heavy mud deposit on the lower hull on an otherwise very clean model (even the tracks). It just seems unfinished somehow.. but it might be just me...
@ianstewartbrown5308
@ianstewartbrown5308 2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure the road wheels would carry some mud considering the amount of mud on the hull, also the rear plate of the vehicle particularly near the idler is too clean there is no build up of mud at all

The machine gun is supposed to go through the hole in the plate, not on the top edge. And a fire extinguisher on a camouflaged tank certainly wasn't painted red, on german tanks in ww2 they were dark grey at first, later dark yellow - basically the same as the rest of the tank.
