Painting Angron, Daemon Primarch of Khorne | Grim, Dark, Fast & Fun

Just a little video on how I painted Angron, the literally angriest Ron ever. I kind of throw everything I can to paint this warhammer 40k primarch from oil paint to airbrushing and more. Enjoy!

Great job, I'm assuming we can expect Mortarion too soon? My favourite blood effect will always be Tamiya Clear Red mixed with brown and black, give much depths and when mixing the clear with normal acrylics it globs up, so great for gore and not just blood.

Morty was actually my first big model from when I was starting out. I don't really want to do him again, but was considering a "saving my old trash" vid on him because he's kinda nasty, and not in the good nurgle way. Not sure. Humming (and hawwing).

@@TRTT ah I see, rescue videos are always nice. You could also do other armies big guys, like the Avatar of Khaine and euhm, a hierophant? C'tan shards maybe, but they aren't that big though.

Hi love this with the oils , what thinners is safe to use to thin the oils plus the model itself ? Also can the piece still be clear coated over oil ? Thanks for any advice

Hi! You always want to make sure you have ventilation with thinners, so "safe" still requires some control of your environment - but there are relatively odorless thinners. Some are quite odorless but bonkers expensive you can find at hobby and model painting stores, but the best value I've found is Mona Lisa thinner (I get from michaels, they have a 30% off coupon you can find online)... it's quite cheap and very low odor. I'd avoid general painting thinners you find at hardware stores, they technically work but the fumes are heavy and they are a bit extreme for delicate painting. You absolutely can clear coat. Oil paint manufacturers recommend 6 months (!!) so they have time to cure to avoid cracking, but they assume you're doing thick canvas paintings that take longer to cure... I usually just wait a week and haven't had issues personally.

Not dumb at all. Black primer then drybrush gray then white primer. I'd suggest ELF makeup brushes, cheap and crazy good for this.

I don't but if I recall it was burnt/raw sienna, pthalo blue, titanium white, lemon yellow (hue), alarian crimson and black.
