I know you might never see this comment since it’s a year old video, but had to say I so appreciate your genuine gentle, and loving spirit. It comes through in all you do. The appreciation of all the goodness of already created furniture, manufactured or hand made, is so wonderful. Your work is knowledgeable and artistic. Thank you for showing all your learned tips even like putting painted furniture feet on the clips!! Genius. I’m new to flipping and use it as my creative outlet for relaxing after much time spent in pastoral counseling and caring for others needing repair and refurbishing , so similar 😉 My favorite line this time is “Frankenstein-wood” haha

You know, I've watched a LOT of youtubers revamping icky furniture. While some are absolutely gorgeous, they are impractical for the novice. You do beautiful work that I feel I can almost pull off! You make smart decisions that are practical and not so time consuming. Also, you're a January baby so I can't help myself.

Bought a table from Ikea in a beautiful dark, almost black finish and the kids have ruined it with their science projects, dinging, scratching, rubbing the finish off. I thought I would have to throw it out and buy another but I’m going to use a sander and strip off the top and apply a dark stain and put a protective coating on it. Thank you for the inspo! I feel like furniture we threw out could have been saved if we gave it just a little bit if extra TLC. Hopefully I can save a couple things we have now because I really didn’t and don’t want to be someone that just throws stuff away. Tysm!

Love that you are trying to keep furniture out of landfill! I’ve refurbished an entire 3-bed house will all second hand furniture that I’ve up cycled. Mirrors, beds, wardrobes, tables. It’s been so satisfying to take something that would have ended up in landfill and give it a new life. Love your colour choice on these pieces ❤️

I love the tones you picked out. It looks great. My little boy and I did the same to an old dresser that's been in our family since the 60's. It was falling apart and looked so ugly. So we moved it into the backyard and started sanding, did some repairs and then stained and sprayed it with a semi gloss clear. Looks brand new. And my little boy is so proud of himself because now it's in his bedroom. It was so much fun working with him and making a special memory like that with him. He was only 6 at the time but working with tools made him feel like a big boy. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Agree. Angie is so very humble and keeps it REAL, encourages we use tools within our budget. She demonstrates doing the most with whatever you've got. Watching her videos feels like you're beside her, figuring out the process as she goes along. And that figure-it-outiveness is what it is actually like once you get into a furniture project. Most of us don't have a pop-up paint tent, compressor, sprayer, surf-prep sander...

We bought a small three drawer dresser with a mirror exactly like this piece, in about 1970, for our toddler daughter's room. It had the same finish and legs but wooden handles, and you're right, it was very solidly made, all wood and lasted. Still in good shape when I gave it to a family member several years ago. 😊 I love to see sturdy but rather grungy things remade like this, thumbs up. 👍

These ones weren’t too bad so I just used the same degreaser that I used on the dresser but there are many different products and ways (from boiling in vinegar to different polishes). It just depends on what the metal is and if there is any sort of coating or finish on it (vs solid metal).

Another terrific video. Yesterday I picked up an unloved very abused nursing rocking chair off the side of the road. The back was barley twists and the seat was coil springs, burlap, straw and some nasty looking black hair (horse hair?). It has 10 million nails in the seat frame. I tried to figure out what year it was built. I couldnt find anything similar on the internet. I'm torn on if i should rehab it or use it as garden decor. It is currently sitting under a red dawn cedar out by the garden. I have a question... What colors look good with oak hardwood floors? The internet is either stingy and wont tell me what colors go with certain types of wood or im using the wrong key words.
