Awesome work, looking forward to seeing it painted. In case it helps, you can put Saran plastic wrap over paint stripper to keep it from drying out so fast and it keeps working longer. I've never done it on a job that large, but I don't see why it wouldn't work too. Or Maybe something like one of those plastic drop covers they sell at Home Depot, the thinnest one they sell. Keep the videos coming !

I think it's so impressive that when you paint you take off everything. I just don't understand how you remember where every piece goes.

Those trucks are pretty simple to put back together the bolts are pretty much all the same size and standard Chevy bolts. I built a 1972 GMC Suburban, and my brother's 1964 Chevy long bed Chevy Truck the chassis are exactly the same thing from 1960-72

Glad you aren't taking out dents or anything like that. Lots of character and stories to hear from an old work truck. 🌝 Any thoughts to fender liner? Rhino liner?

I had my whole engine pulled out of my 1972 GMC Suburban and degrees the inside with oven cleaner then sanded it all down to paint the inside lacker paint black with no clear. That way When I put the engine back in had a nice engine bay to go in

Hey dude how you doing bro I love the work you do I'm always watching the stuff you do I just have a question how come you didn't use any rust neutralizer on the parts you just sprayed on the fender Wells or on the radiator support don't you think you should have used a rust inhibitor they spray it on and you like leave it on for 24 hours and then it kills all the rust and then you wipe it with dinner and then spray that was my question to you if you could answer it I'd appreciate it thanks bro

I was wondering the same thing or wash it with dish detergent to get it nice and clean. Then some primer filler it's like bondo spray on that hides a lot of imperfections? Block sand the primer filler then shot the black paint over that it would have looked much better. I know it's about money to but the primer filler will save time on body work in stead of using gray primer will work to its just much thinner. When you work with the primer filler you have to work fast because the hardner you mix in it starts activating fast when I very first used the stuff it harden in my spray gun lucky I had a second spray gun ready to go. I left the primer filler on my truck for month's driving around like that until I was ready to paint I had to send that primer filler down to get all the inbeded dirt that stuck to the primer over time shot some more primer feather filler and block sanded it. Then had HOT RODZ FLATES sprayed on it. That was over 14 year's ago and to this day that paint is still hanging on it. The prep work is the most important part of a paint job painting is the last step everything that goes before the paint job what makes the paint and metal work last. You don't get that right in a few years the rust will bubble up through the paint job. Those trucks are know to rust out on the the corners of the door skins around the top and windows on the bottom of the fenders and the back coroners of the cab.

Talk about starting at step one,wow i bet your paint jobs look good and last long,when you do under a fender ,the very first coat,do you spray a sealer first then some type por 15,im doing my sons 71 Totino and im really would like the paint job to last,it will be stored inside

Put the big block & trans out of the camero in the C10, sell the camero. Might as well get Joe to help pull the cab off, paint the frame, and cab bottom.

Hey mate just wondering why you didn't primer them panels before spraying the black as you get a better finish when you grey primer and wet sand back lightly then put a top coat on
@1965OlGal4 жыл бұрын
Wayne's Garage agree that a filler primer and a sand would have evened a lot of it out..if part is already painted, just a sand and a clean is necessary
@WaynesGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@1965OlGal yeah but when you have sanded though to the bear metal you should also reprimer it again as it helps the paint to stick better where the bear metal areas are
