Painting motorcycle gas tank

The tank has a lot of damage from multiple crash. Just trying to make it presentable.

Need to use the 2K Clear not the 1K to prevent the gas melting paint/clear. Nice job, thank you for sharing!

I give it to you for doing it yourself. Looks good. Keep up the self reliance. I do agree with the comments about the clear. Found that out first hand. Don't spill even a drop of gas on it.

Can’t stress how much you need a painting Respirator while using 2K clearcoat. It will really miss your lungs I’ll take it to somebody who’s already in that position.

I thought you were supposed to wait longer before doing the clear coat. Like let the paint dry for 24 hours.

You need to keep a wet edge when you spray that base coat was really dry in a lot of spots

I am still learning. I was very afraid to paint few years ago. I am building up confidence. I hope to be good one day.

1K clear on a gas tank... Oh hell no! 2K ONLY! Gas tanks need to be chemically resistant. You don't get that with 1K.
