Congratulations on a Job Well Done. Ill bet you dont regret how much detail you put into the preparation of Carl. Every extra minute you put into him showed up in his finish. Happy for You.

Always amazed at how much work it is to spray the car. To anyone following along, the sugestion to practice spraying with the gun full of cleaner is a very good one. It also allows you to practice the spray-path that you are going to use to reach all of the car in a given order.
@ElliesGarage2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! I really appreciated Mr. Ed doing that. It gave me a chance to practice a little so I was at leas t a little less nervous when it was time to spray.

I'm glad you got the chance to actually spray Carl. Isn't unmasking fun? Wait until you start installing the chrome, glass and emblems. It's going to make you smile all day. You did a fantastic job!! Now you know what a "wet edge" is and not the hard part is keeping it with the right overlap and not getting a run. Just wait. Now you get to sand the paint!! Yup, that is what I said. Sand the paint. OB1 can fill you in. you best do something really special for him. He is a prince helping you. We need more mentors like him.

I know! and I thought I was done with sanding! 😩😂 I know Mr. Ed will take care of us, though.
@mrjata2 жыл бұрын
@@ElliesGarage You might not have to or want to "color sand" but that is how you get the ultra slick paint jobs! Don't worry, you use really fine paper like 2000 and finer paper but it is so rewarding after buffing it out. (then you are afraid to drive it, might get a scratch)

That is an awesome colour and an awesome job. You did a great job with the spray gun and I liked to see how Mr Ed guided you (spray booths are very noisy places aren't they?) with hand gestures. Watching you and Mr Ed helped me pick up a couple of tips that you only get when shown by someone with long term experience, Thank you to Mr Ed and thank you Ellie. I am really, I mean really, looking forward to the next bit where you have lots of individual panels to paint and then the assembly where you work out all the panel gaps without any guide marks. Excellent job.
