Painting my BMW E28 | DIY Garage Build PT5 | Shocking Results

In this episode we finally tackle the biggest part of this project; the paint job. Primer was sanded and then we laid down our basecoat of BMW Zinnoberrot red 138 and our clearcoat.
After the clearcoat was laid and cured it was time to cut and buff the car. Although the video only shows between 1500-3000 grit I actually also used 5000 grit to achieve those mirror like results.

Yes I could tell the difference between the two paint shades and I think going for the darker one was a good call. My e28 is an early 1984 in Henna Red. Great achievement doing this in your garage dude and filming it too! Well done! Can't wait to see it all back together with the trim refitted. 👍😎

Your right the lighter shade resembled more of a henna red. Thank you bud! Trim video is next week but I can tell you now it’s looking amazing!

Amazing work! The wet sanding made the surface look like glass and it was worth the undoubtedly long hours getting it there.

I’d consider it but the supplies is the cheapest part, it takes a lot of time labor for these types of results; I just make it look easy😂 [e-mail]
