Having the colour indicated when you're going to the palette is super helpful! I think that's the first time I've seen that in a video on KZbin. Even though my palette is different, it gives me some insight to your thought process. Well done video all round, thanks a bunch!

I think you're the best watercolour tutor online and I've watched quite a few!! Reasons? You are a top watercolour artist, you explain everthing you're doing and thinking all the time, you show what's happening in your palette, you have a great northern irish brogue which is a pleasure to listen to, and finally you have a nice sense of humour.

That was a super demo! I loved the looseness of it all and the way you kept the beautiful transparency allowing the base colours to shine through. One very useful tip for me was don’t use a dry brush for darkening your colours, use more paint in the water. I loved the outcome. It was a beautiful painting and I love Belfast despite the rain! Thank you.

Simply one of the best watercolour instructional demos I've seen. The combination of the narrative and the visuals was completely satisfying. Grahame's quick facility was a bit unnerving, though. Providing captions for the elements of a mix was a great idea. Thanks!

I haven’t picked up a brush for about 25 years, I used to watch Alwyn Crawshaw, stumbled across your superb video, it’s inspiring me to get my paints out, a quick question, what brush are you using?
@damienkearns36544 жыл бұрын
Rosemary and Co is definitely the brand, I think it's a 12 or 14 Round from the 401 Pointed Sable Mix range. They are £15 and £20 respectively and are very highly regarded. You can get them on rosemaryandco.com. They could possibly confirm identify as well. Get out those paints and get painting before the inspiration wears off 😂 You'll be glad you did. There's a whole new world available now to learn online. KZbin, Patreon, Domestika, etc.

It actually did Janis, but I work with the paper at an angle of about 45 degrees. As a result the water doesn't sit in pools and so the buckling is minimised.

Hello Grahame, Any chance that you might consider setting up a subscription based website? I’m thinking along the lines of Billy Showell. I dare say that there are other artists doing something like that (mostly via Patreon), but there is no one with you skill, easy way of teaching and style. No one wants to learn from an artist unless they really admire the way they paint, and it’s clear from all the comments on your KZbin tutorials that there are loads of others like me who feel the same way. There’s a huge gap in the market just waiting for you to fill it. Best wishes Genevieve
@PaintingWatercolour3 жыл бұрын
Hi Genny. As you know my online courses site has just gone live (thanks for joining!). I may operate on subscription at some point but at the moment I just don't have enough material. If I am able to offer subscriptions in the future I would offer discounts for those folks who have paid for stand alone courses and who would like to switch to subscription.
