I am giggling just a bit......ok, a lot!😊 "Old & very old CDs, maybe antiques!" The 1990s seem a blink or 2 ago to me. Certainly what age we are presently influences us on our perspective of time. My childhood/teens were the '50s & 60s. Now that is old with antiques. (I am still wrapoing my head around this!) And I still play my CDs on recorder. Wish i had kept more of my records. But i digress.🙄🤔 Your paintings are lovely, varied, colorful & fun. Thank you, again, for bringing us along. I love Rose Requin Crafts day!😊

Lol, I was very much a 90s kid, but it really seems like yesterday. And records are coming back in style. I don't have any but artists are selling their albums on vinyls again!

R.i.p. that Eiffel 65 CD 😢 (I listened to that soooo much in high school). Honestly I still like physical media, also it's a good item for nostalgia, and in the zombie apocalypse I will still have my CD player. 😂 That aside, like your chill vibe in your videos and your voice! Nice crafting. 😊

Rose a way to get the scratches out of the clear CD's after done painting what you want is to coat them in a thin layer of resin (it doesn't matter whether or not its UV resin or epoxy that is up to you) Most resins are self leveling and will fill the small scratches/ gaps and revitalize the clear properties of the plastic. another tip to keep the CDs from moving around is blue tack or that sticky tack that teachers use to stick things to the wall in a classroom.

I felt the "old" comment so hard. 😂 I love how these turned out! Great job on the beetle! I think realism would be pretty challenging with paint markers. Brushes and paint probably would've been a little easier for blending.

Lol. I resemble that comment.

I think the tape and foil technique would work well on CD-Rs. You know the ones we used to burn mix cds on, lol. You could scratch the top of those not even trying. It's not like bought cds.

Have you tried chemically removing the foil? Rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover/acetone? A heat gun might be pretty effective too. I like these and the liscense plates a lot!!
@RoseRequinCrafts6 ай бұрын
I tried acetone and it just made the plastic all cloudy. I did not try a heat gun. I might have to try that. Thanks!

I suggest you try investing in a clear blending marker, and only blending analogous colours, or ones that are directly next to each other on the colour wheel. Yellow and orange, for example, and red and purple or blue and purple. And keep the markers from drying out as best you can, as uneven and dry markers are much harder to blend. You can also use a q-tip with a very small amount of rubbing alcohol on it to blend the marker while it is still wet, if you don’t want to buy a blending marker.
