I'm also glad that you mentioned working on different subjects; seascapes AND flowers. That's where I am now--trying everything, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find "my style" or "my type" of painting. Thanks to you, I'm now not worried about working on a variety of subjects.

not sure I like that open medium, is it suppose to be sticky I find that it is so sticky when I go to add another layer it takes off what I already put on I did use a light touch not much pressure , my house is hot as I'm sitting in the kitchen beside a wood stove would that make it sticky, I don't have a studio lol it's my kitchen table
@JansenArtEducation4 жыл бұрын
Hi Janet, Sounds to me like your using too much medium in the mix, if it is taking off what you did before. Yes the open medium will be a little sticky, it does that for layer adhesion. Like I say in the video if you don't like it so sticky just add a little extender medium to it as you go. Your wood stove will add a faster drying component to the paint as well It puts out very dry air that is hard on all types of paint. Put a kettle on the stove so it add a little steam into the air and that will really help. Many acrylic artists, oil and acrylic, myself included that paint near a wood stove do that.
@janethowser35334 жыл бұрын

I love your work however you offer so much information I find it hard to follow. You are a jewel and this is not meant to be a criticism. Painting to me is like piano. Hi Patsy, yes it is a teaching style taught to me by my mentor 35 years ago. You present, present and then present and on the third time they start to hear. Since I have so many students at so many different levels I present a lot and you hear what you need at the time. One reason I say go back and watch them again. I do the same with everything I study.
