Funny thing is, other than the shooting the cans part, the way it ends up isn't much different from splatter techniques I've used for painting RC car bodies and other things. Combine airbrush, drybrushing, loose masks, splatter effects, and even scraping some away with a plastic edge. You can do this with any kind of coating. Say 3 colors of camo paint with loose masking like sticks leaning against it, and you can make cool random camo patterns.
@thataintbad2 ай бұрын
hell yea I like that I appreciate it I am going to try and get better at it
@alienspacebones2 ай бұрын
@thataintbad You could use primed canvas boards, rather than the actual stretched canvas. Same texture, but wild cans wouldn't punch holes. If the paint is thick enough on the board you could put the TAB saying on with a pallet knife, or some kind of scraper. Stick some spray can lids, or even a really blown open can on, then shoot a couple more. Creates negative shapes. Like other art, it's easy to over work- black primed board, do a white, desert tan, and something vibrant like a neon green. Call it good. Fans will hang that in their blaster cave, I totally would. How about this: have one of your t-shirt designs done like a poster, mask that part out, do your thing with the cans. That would be pretty sick.

Pretty fun to watch. If you ever want straight lines on the tape without it bleeding the paint, buy some gesso (art store) Apply one clear coat with a paintbrush over the letters. You should fill small buckets paint or like soda can like things then place around a canvas and then shoot them and have the exit splatter paint the canvas. I know it won’t be hard for you to hit them but they might make a nice exit splatter pattern 👍. If you wanted to make it harder I guess you could just shoot them at various distances. It might also be interesting using hollow points to see if the pattern changes. Either way just an idea I’m happy to see your channel growing since I 1st saw it. Keep it up my bearded brother 🫡

Jackson Pollock? More like Jackson Poglock. MC Escher? More like MC Echelon. I was left watching with a bit of slack jaw, thinking to myself - well shit, he's right...that ain't bad! @@thataintbad I think i misunderstood you about the rifle - I was referring to what you mention around 0:08 That you had seen folks do something similar by hanging the cans from a string and shooting them with a rifle - but that you'd be shooting them in the air with a pistol AND a rifle. But now that i listen to it again, I think you actually said - well I'm gonna do it with a pistol and NOT a rifle. I'd watch a fundamentals rifle video btw. I liked your pistols and ccw fundamentals videos a lot. I think they provide appeal to new shooters for the obvious informational value. I also think they provide a different kind of value to people who shoot a lot - mainly the format. You seem to have a knack for cutting away the fat from concepts/methods and just presenting the viewer with the essential - "what you need to know"/"why you need to know it"/"how to practice doing it"/"what expectations for success/failure will look like"/"go train and use what works and adapt for what doesn't". And then you always toss in some fun to make it worth the viewers time. If I had to make a request for any video - I'm interested in knowing what you do to side draw and hipfire moving targets so consistently/quickly. Is it as straight forward as just stacking those repetitions as deep as you can until you can do it? Are there any methods to practicing it that you found more useful than others? Maybe start with someone tossing the can for you to practice tracking the target without having to also worry about the toss and building the grip. idk, stuff like that i find super interesting. It doesn't even have to be educational honestly - some sort of trick shot video would be sick as hell. Basically videos like this one where you call your shot and then take it - they are always fun to watch.
