Thanks so much for sharing your stories behind these pieces of art! :D I'm currently a sophomore in college majoring in Studio art, and my goal is to become a wildlife artist similar to you. Ever since I was a little kid I've always loved animals. Whether it was going to the zoo or watching Animal Planet, I've always been fascinated by animals. It seems to me like the best thing a wildlife can do is go out into the animals habitat and experience their world first hand. What would you suggest an artist do if they're unable to actually go out to the Arctic and see polar bears? Would the zoo and animal documentaries be the next best thing?

Thank you for your kind words Mary. I have seen your art on Instagram and it is very good. I like the way you concentrate on light and form. The most important word in the title 'Wildlife Artist' is 'Artist' It's a bonus if you can see the animals in the wild but if you can't then you do your best with zoo animals and comparing how they look to wild ones you see in documentaries. Art is what matters most. If you put your heart and soul into what you do, you can make a success of it. I think an artist with passion and talent who hasn't seen the animals in the wild will still out perform a less talented artist who has.
