Is the paint always wet when you apply another color on top? I’m guessing “yes” when you want the colors to blend. But when adding detailed flowers in the foreground, you want the preceding paint to dry first, so the color of the flowers do not blend. I guess the overall process involves painting over both wet and dry colors, yes? Thank you!

Michael, how do you prime your panel? I found it even with layers of gesso that it still was drying way too fast on me as if it was soaking the oilpaint into the panel. Any tips?
