I've watched hundreds of painting videos since I started painting last year, but nothing inspires me to paint more than your videos do! I find your style, renditions, color choices, and techniques matching with the vibe and quality I'm yearning for. Thank you so much for all the wonderful inspirations 💕

So pretty! This is so helpful. I made the mistake of squeezing out gouache in a pallet and letting it dry before using. Next time I use gouache I will use a stay wet pallet. I usually paint with watercolor so it is hard to convince my brain to not drown the paint!! Thank you!

It's a bit tricky to find that balance of wet enough to spread, and dry enough so it's not a goopy mess!

Thank you Sarah for sharing your great tips on water control and layering. The 2 things I struggle with the most with gouache (I’m using way too much water because I’m trying to use up my dried gouache palette). Ive decided to switch over to straight from the tube and I’m excited to apply your tips and try this painting…especially since we just got 4” of snow here just North of Dallas! It’s just starting to melt away so this painting has really inspired me to capture our meadow before it’s all gone. Looking forward to the tree tutorials! Wishing you good health and prosperity in the New Year. ❤️ PJ

This was a great video. I love the way you describe things, it helps people like me who is self teaching myself watercolour and guache understand the layering process. Beautiful results. 😊

The drybrush of it all! Like a mosaic of tiny abstract paintings that create the whole composition. My water control skills are mid, at best, so I appreciate this advice. (I have a Stay-Wet palette that's been in my refrigerator for a while so I need to check on it. Yikes.)

Love the little touches of snow throughout the painting! I’m really looking forward to the patreon “curriculum” this year 😊. It’s quite snowy and cold where I live, so I’m in the mood to paint snowy trees and fields. (It’s finally “warmed up” to -4 Celsius after a bitterly cold week.)

I love this scene! New subby here, I came across one of your videos just a few days ago. Not only am I new to the channel but new to Gouache as well. I picked up a himi set on sale and watching some of the videos about the ones to use I am now not so sure about my purchase. Anyway, great video! Till next time, bright blessings to you. 😊

Nice under layer technique and re emphasizing amount of water…that makes gouache work or immediately fail. Blessings, we had our ten year snow yesterday. 😂 We haven’t seen snow like you showed here in nearly 30 years…

Hi Sarah. In one of your videos about comparing gouache brands, you mentioned buying American made brands when you visit with your parents in the USA. Would you PLEASE buy some Da Vinci gouache on your next visit? It is made n California, and available through Jerry’s, Cheap Joes, and Bl 0:25 ick’s online, as well as directly from Da Vinci. I would really like to hear your opinion of it compared to other professional quality brands. I buy it because it’s available in 37 ml. tubes for not too much more than the 15 ml. tubes. Their Titanium White is available is a 150 ml. tube. This makes their gouache more economical. I would really appreciate hearing how you think it compares to the more well-known gouache brands. Also, have you done any comparisons with Royal Talens Plakkaatverf Gouache? Thanks for all your helpful videos to the gouache-painting community!

Hi Sarah, I’ve only tried painting In gouache once but have been watching different artists on KZbin. I was under the impression that you needed to thin the paint with water. One reason, if I’m correct but probably not, was to prevent flaking once it was dry. Would that be more important on the first layer of painting? Or am I totally wrong on this? Thank you. I know you may not get to answer me, and I understand. 😊

Hi Sarah, thank you so much for all the info here. Ive recently fallen in love with Kuretake watercolours, they have a slight guache effect, which has led me to like the idea of using gouache. Your dry brush and water control is very helpful. I was wondering if a palatte like l use for acrylic would work for gouache. Laying wet kit roll on to a tray then covering with greaseproof paper, press onto the wet tissue. Apply the paint onto palette, and cover with cling film when not using. Just a thought lol. Many thanks again, and happy new year to you Woolfie and kitty paws....Alioban 💖🐈🐈

Is that like a stay wet palette?
@alisonlyons469115 күн бұрын
Yes l guess it is. Home made rather than ready made. l didnt know you could get readymade 😊 l dont waste acrylic paint anymore, and its easily disposed of. Roll it up and recycle. Sorry its about acrylic, but im going to try with gouache, see what happens. Thanks again Sarah❤
