OMG! I'm so excited to see this video on your first steps in plein air painting! I love it, because right now, I'm in this stage! But, because I'm follow you, I have better products, like the portable painter, new sets if watercolors and gouache of course! I make my own sketchbook with different watercolors paper...at first, OMG! All my set up was big, and all was home made! Now I have a little pochade box, very simple with magnets, I buy a tripod, for my box, a little one... I think, its not so important the materials, the important think is to start this awesome journey! Because, it's the most important thing I've ever done! Its a wonderful experience, for drawing and painting, and for my relax time! Thank you for motivated me to do that❤❤❤

I love watching the slower, longer videos because we get to see more of your thought process. Plus it's more realistic of how long a project should take.

The paper definitely for me is what I splurge on. I’ve never tried hot pressed though. Thank you for the video ❤

Guiding words, yes. Until you said it, I didn't realize that this is what has suited me for the last handful of years. It feels more like a steering wheel than an anchor.

I arranged and rearranged my craft storage area a lot. It helps me to avoid or procrastinate doing art! I see that you could utilize more of your door for storage with hooks or a clear shoe rack and you could also have more storage near the ceiling for things that you don't use too much. You could hang a net from your ceiling for the lightweight things or put a cat hammock up there for your cat to supervise and critique your work. For the things you don't use anymore, you could donate them to non-profits that have arts and crafts classes or open art studio drop ins.

Hi Sarah! What is the main difference between primary white and permanent white? For the Shinhan brand. I've been searching but can't find answers and I see you use these gouache paints a lot so I thought I'd ask you instead 😊

Interesting. I'm mostly a watercolour painter but had veered off into digital for a few years and just coming back to watercolour. I have a few tubes of gouache I want to play with (and having just looked at a few, it seems only one has completely dried out) and because it's not my main medium, am wondering dried might work for me. Hilariously I found the plate I was using for gouache at the bottom of a pile of plates I use for palettes and I hadn't cleaned it before putting it away, just put some plastic wrap over it, and it seemed to rewet and paint okay. Maybe not fully opaque (but that's probably me being heavy with the water given I don't know what I'm doing with gouache) but it's been sitting there for about four years, so I was surprised that it worked.
